The 32-year-old Usman already had one spin-off under his belt when Kim reached out to him via his inbox. Kim had been a fan of Nigerian man Usman’s music after watching him in Before the 90 Days, which he appeared in with ex-wife, Lisa Hamme. Usman didn’t want to date another American woman twice his age again, but thanks to her consistent efforts, Kim won his heart.

In late March 2023, Usman decided to inform his Instagram followers about his relationship status. It looked like Usman wanted to clear the air, in terms of whether he is single or dating someone. Since Usman is creative, he decided to do so by singing out loud. In an Instagram Reel, Usman lip-synced to the lyrics, “Who knows I’m single? Oh yes, I’m single.” In his caption for the same, he added, “Am single but not searching and not ready to mingle lol.” In the comments, Usman received messages from fans, such as, “I'm sure when you are ready to mingle, you will be mingling with another white American old woman.”

It did look like Usman knew what he was doing since it caught the attention of viewers, and perhaps Kim as well. As per Zara, this meant that he was asking how her family was doing. She told him, “they are doing good.” Zara was the major source of Kim and Usman’s fights in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Usman was in Tanzania to film the music video of a song called “Zara,” which he’d penned for his former lover.
It was where he’d asked Kim to meet him for the first time. Kim was in the dark about it, and Usman claimed the song was dedicated to women all over the world who are named Zara. While Kim had bought it, the cameras filmed Usman in a flirty video call with Zara, suggesting he was still in love with her after Kim flew back to the U.S. Usman openly interacted with Zara, so it looks like she is back on his radar. If not, Usman may want to make it look like she is, so 90 Day Fiancé star Kim knows how lonely he is without her.
