First airing back in 2014, 90 Day Fiancé capitalized on a society that loves watching other people's problems.

The premise of the show is fairly simple. Foreigners coming to the United States on a 90-day visa are paired with US citizens whom they must get married to within that time period. If not, the visitors have to return to their home country. The couples are often forced to overcome language and cultural barriers, as well as adversity from family and friends unsure about the integrity of their relationship. But as we've seen on the show, more often than not, these couples end up happily married.

However, we're focusing on the few pairings who have had a tougher time working out the kinks. While there are some couples with speculative outcomes that are yet to be made official (ahem, Chantel & Pedro, ahem), this list will be speaking on those couples with confirmed breakups.

Take a look at the Shortest Relationships On 90 Day Fiancé.

6. Jason And Cassia (4 Years)

15 90 Day Fiancé Couples That Are Still Together (And 5 That Split)

Jason Hitch and Cassia Tavares (Brazil) met online while Tavares was in a relationship with Hitch's friend. They separated and got back together a couple of times before ultimately filing for divorce in late 2018 after four years of marriage. The former couple is still friends though, as reports say that Hitch still lets his ex live with him in his home. At least this is one relationship that ended in some sort of mutual respect, as you will not find below...

5. Chelsea And Yamir (2 Years)

15 90 Day Fiancé Couples That Are Still Together (And 5 That Split)

Yamir Castillo met Chelsea Macek when she was volunteering in his home country of Nicaragua. Castillo, a member of a boy band, moved to the United States to live with Macek and her parents in Galesburg, Illinois. While Chelsea's parents were supportive of the relationship, it did cause problems with the members of his band. After receiving a demo tape, record producers urged him to move to Chicago in order to have a successful career. Both being unemployed and living for free in Galesburg, Chelsea was resistant to the idea of moving, which ultimately led to their divorce after two years of marriage. Macek still lives in Galesburg and works as an elementary school teacher, while Castillo finally moved to Chicago to pursue his dreams.

Those around them on the show were shocked by the split, with 90 Day Fiance co-star, Jason Hitch, telling Radar Online that the couple could've tried harder to work on their marriage, even implying that something fishy was going on because they seemed like they were so in love. But the couple released a joint statement saying that they aren't interested in giving any details of their personal lives.

4. Colt And Larissa (7 Months)

Colt Johnson and Larissa Lima (Brazil) met online and tied the knot in June 2018 after only seeing each other 11 days in person. Their relationship was fairly rocky to begin with, though. Following a string of domestic battery charges on Lima, and an eventual arrest, Johnson filed for divorce in January 2019 after seven months of marriage. As is the case for many reality TV stars, however, these two have taken punches at each other in the press. Being a foreigner in America who cannot legally work, she created a GoFundMe account, asking for donations to pay for a lawyer. Rumors started swirling, however, that she was actually just using the money to party, but once those claims were put to rest, it was then said that she used the money to buy Instagram followers...

3. Jonathan And Fernanda (7 Months)

Season six's Jonathan Rivera (32) met the 19-year-old Fernanda Flores while he was vacationing in Mexico. The couple married in May 2018 and separated in December that same year. It's unclear why they chose to break up, though according to Rivera, it was Flores who chose to leave back to Mexico. The two have engaged in petty Instagram drama (as one does), with Jonathan even blocking Fernanda. Did Fernanda leave for Mexico and cause a scene on Instagram to get some kind of attention from Jonathan? He told In Touch Weekly "I don’t know how to help someone from changing who they are or who they were. Also, she’s young, 20 years old. You have a tendency to continue to grow, you want different things as time goes on and I can’t blame her for that." Well, I guess that's that.

2. Molly And Luis (6 Months)

Luis Mendez met Molly Hopkins—15 years his senior—when she was on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Luis didn't get along with Molly's children and didn't want to be a father at such a young age himself. After six months of marriage, in January 2018 Hopkins filed for divorce, which a lot of people saw coming. What we didn't see coming, however, was Mendez remarrying only five months after the divorce was finalized. It makes us think if he even loved Molly at all.

1. Danielle And Mohamed (2 Months)

The drama between Mohamed Jbali (Tunisia) and Danielle Mullins is still one of the biggest in the show's history. They met each other in a chat room online and soon got engaged. However, Mohamed lied about having a job and was texting multiple women after they were married. Two months after receiving his green card, Mohamed left Danielle and stopped communicating with her. (Classic.) She then accused him of using her to gain citizenship (isn't this the basis of the show?) and filed for an annulment in hopes to get him deported. Danielle even went so far as to track him down in Miami, to which he responded by threatening to file a restraining order against her.
