Fans of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? feel that the Potthast family business makes no sense. For a few seasons now, viewers have tried to figure out the family and their company but feel that many of its members are just criminals in mascara.
The self-righteous patriarch has taken a few seasons to get used to since he always seemed to be attacking Andrei Castravat for his terrible skills. Now, more fans have taken Andrei’s side and feel that the entire Potthast family needs to tone down their judgment of Andrei. It has already been revealed that half the siblings have been arrested with a long rap sheet, and many feel like the Florida family cannot be trusted.
TLC fans can't get over how shady their family meeting was as they yelled at one another on the front lawn like “white trash.” Fans took to Reddit to express their disgust with the family. Viewers have pointed out that Elizabeth often tries to paint her family in the perfect light when in reality, they are just the owners of “The Ritz Carlton Mobile Home Park.” The lack of professionalism has resonated with fans who feel that they are low class and really have no idea how to run a successful company. It was also noted that private equity firms like the Potthasts' firm have been buying failing trailer parks around the United States and increasing the rent tenfold. To many, this is a disgraceful act that is motivated by greed.
The family’s Florida business has come under fire a few times for its sleazy moves and acting like slum landlords toward tenants. There have been reports made to the Better Business Bureau, which have mainly been complaints against Chuck and his son, Daniel, for running foreclosure scams on renters. The family’s company in question, CDC Capital Investments LLC, has had to defend itself against accusations of rental fraud numerous times. Many of the victims revealed that the properties they were rented were in the process of being foreclosed on, and the company failed to inform the renters.
Lesser complaints accuse the company of not answering their phone or having a voicemail, accusing the family of avoidance. The family leader was arrested for unpaid child support back in 2009 and feels that there is more to this sneaky family than meets the eye.
