Paul Staehle from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise recently claimed that the system is corrupt while accusing the judge of being hard on him and his estranged wife, Karine Martins. TLC viewers may know the 39-year-old reality star from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2, during which he married his Brazilian partner. The couple's journey began on a sweet note as they became parents and built a family. However, their relationship eventually crumbled under personal differences and poverty. In 2022, the couple officially split up after a video of domestic abuse surfaced online.
Since then, the two have been battling for child custody while their kids are in foster care. Recently, Karine opened up about how her sons, Pierre and Ethan, feel about being apart from their parents. According to the 26-year-old reality star, her kids have been suffering amid all the childcare drama. Karine shared that they're still not with her, and it is getting harder for her to be apart from them. The Brazilian mom's post was highly touching as she swore to keep fighting for her sons until the end of time.
After Karine's emotional Instagram post, Paul has now shared more details about his kids who are in foster care. In a recent Instagram Story, he took his estranged wife's side and wrote that she did "everything CPS and the judge" asked her to do. He added that despite all the hard work, the family court had only permitted Karine "1 hour 1 day a week" to see the children. According to him, his Brazilian ex-partner deserves more as she works hard, earns money and can support herself. He also feels the problem isn't with him or Karine but rather with the system. Paul wrote, "Judge Hagarty a former prosecutor is a harsh judge," adding that most other good judges allow mothers to have a chance at getting their kids back. He continued that the termination of his and his wife's "parental and custodial rights" without an opportunity for reunification shows the system is "corrupt."
According to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum, he did everything from "classes, therapies, drug and alcohol tests," but the court hasn't shown him mercy. Moreover, the former couple doesn't get the opportunity to talk during the case and is poorly treated by everyone involved, Paul claimed. Thankfully, he still hopes to find a better "legal team" to make things right. Sadly, Paul and Karine are suffering without their children.
However, 90 Day Fiancé viewers may not feel the same as they know what the couple has done in the past. Most fans have seen Paul and Karine neglect their sons on social media. Therefore, it would be hard for the couple to gain genuine sympathy and support from people on the Internet. Karine is working as a cosmetologist and trying to get her life back on track, but fans think she may still not be in the best position to take care of her sons. 90 Day Fiancé viewers hope the system's priority is Ethan and Pierre's best interests and not contempt for Paul and Karine.
