The 90 Day Fiancé newcomers Patrick Mendes and Thaís Ramone are nearing their wedding day, but many fans think that Patrick isn't exactly pleasing his partner. Patrick and Thaís first met in Brazil, as he traveled to the country to reconnect with his father. After they met in Brazil, the two hit it off, and Patrick surprised her with several extravagant vacations. Eleven months later, the two got engaged in Mexico, and then began the K-1 visa process. However, her transition to moving to Texas has proven to be a more difficult than she and Patrick anticipated.

Patrick refused to share his income with his fiancee, since they're not married yet, while simultaneously enforcing a tight budget. He was known for micromanaging what she could and could not purchase. 90DF's Thaís and Patrick's brother John Mendes don't see eye to eye, which has created stress for the couple. Also, Patrick pressured Thais into telling her father about their planned marriage, and Patrick found out that her father strongly disapproved of him. Despite these concerns, 90 Day Fiancé star Thaís is still trying to explain what she needs from certain aspects of their relationship. Unfortunately, Patrick doesn't implement her suggestions.

One of Thaís' biggest complaints is that she tries to explain her needs in the relationship, but Patrick dismisses her. Before her arrival in America, Thais described herself as independent. She made her own decisions, worked several jobs that she enjoyed, and didn't have anyone preventing her from thriving. However, the 90 Day Fiancé star Patrick likes to keep a tight leash on finances, and is quick to veto certain decisions, since he's the one with an income. Since she has trouble making her own choices, Thaís feels controlled, lonely, and taken advantage of. She claims that Patrick has changed tremendously, adopting a persona very different from when they were abroad together. Nonetheless, the disagreements regarding finances aren't the only thing that this couple is dealing with, as Patrick likes to hold the reins in other ways.

Patrick had a rough childhood and wasn't close to his siblings. However, he's making changes in adulthood, and really reconnecting with his family. In fact, he invited his brother John to live with him. The two have been sharing a home for over two years, but now that Thaís is living with them, she's not keen on the idea of sharing a residence with him. Thaís' point is understandable, since 90 Day Fiancé's John clearly likes to rock the boat and put in his two cents. He even threw a housewarming party without asking the riotous couple for permission first, but Patrick is reluctant to cut ties, or see the truth behind his brother's antics.

Nonetheless, Patrick's concerns are also understandable. He explained to Thaís that he would need to give John enough time to find his own place, which he suggested should be at least three months. Thais was less than thrilled, as she pointed out that this is another circumstance where her needs are unmet so Patrick can feel fulfilled. Of course, Patrick disagreed. Unfortunately, it's clear that the couple struggle to communicate and compromise, and while Thaís does her best to share her concerns, 90 Day Fiancé's Patrick often turns a blind eye.

In the end, it appears that Thaís wants nothing more than to begin their relationship with positive vibes. Between her father's strong aversion to their marriage, and John's unnerving ability to create chaos, peace and positivity may well be unattainable. Although Patrick claims to understand Thaís' need to live with him and no one else, he seems unwilling to give her what she needs. A few episodes remain, and viewers are eager to find out if the couple will tie the knot on future 90 Day Fiancé episodes.
