A list of the most controversial couples on 90 Day Fiancé would have to include Paola and Russ Mayfield. The OG couple has divided fans in the past, and they are especially critical of Paola. Many fans have derided her racy pictures and questionable beliefs. Paola has once again caused a rift among fans with a recent social media post that criticized cancel culture. The post inspired many heated conversations across multiple social media platforms, and several fans had strong opinions about Pao’s ideas.

Paola and Russ were introduced on 90 Day Fiancé season 1, which told the love story of the Colombia native and Oklahoma boy. Since the show, the couple has welcomed a son, Axel, and continues to appear in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise on spin-offs like Happily Ever After? and Love Games. The couple, and especially Paola, are extremely active on social media, though they’re not loved by all. Many fans find the couple to be desperate and narcissistic and are highly critical of their social media activity.

In her most recent of many controversial posts, Paola shows her conservative side and calls out cancel culture. “To those who worked so hard to cancel Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Seuss and Pepé Le Pew, so quickly and successfully, will you please direct your next efforts towards canceling child pornography, pedophilia and sex trafficking?” she asks. Paola continues, saying people who push for cancel culture are “heard over the rest of us” who claim they’re working against child exploitation. She asks for the “secrets” on how to make cancellations happen so “real changes” can be made, implying that making strides in diversity and inclusion aren’t important.

Paola had many supporters comment on the post, but there are several who feel she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. “This doesn’t really make sense,” one fan commented, explaining that the "cancellation" of Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Seuss, and Pepé Le Pew were the decisions of the individual companies behind the products and character, and not part of a concerted effort from the public. There are no companies or groups that openly support child abuse, so there’s no way to "cancel" it the way Paola is suggesting. In this way, her entire analogy is fundamentally flawed.

There are also many fans who criticized Paola because she may be spreading awareness, but she doesn’t seem to be doing anything tangible to help the causes she claims to be passionate about. “What is she doing that is so significant?” one fan asked, “all I see her do is judging and demeaning people for not doing 'enough.’” Many say that despite her outrage, she seems to be doing nothing “besides buying an RV and posting cringe tiktok.” Fans have been quick to criticize Paola in the past, but this time, they make decent points.

The 90 Day Fiancé star isn’t afraid to share her point of view, but she has to be prepared to be called out when fans spot inconsistencies. No one is arguing that working to protect children from abuse isn’t a worthy cause, but from what fans have seen, Paola talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. She’s quick to call out cancel culture, but fans wonder what she’s actually done to further the cause she claims to be passionate about other than posting about it on Instagram.
