The 90 Day Fiancé alum Paola Mayfield is now an American citizen. She posted the certificate of citizenship on her Instagram and said that she is both proud and grateful. Paola was first featured on 90 Day Fiancé season 1 alongside her husband, Russ Mayfield. At first, the couple had a hard time getting along, especially because Russ's parents and Paola didn't share a cordial relationship. But the duo proved many people wrong and tied the knot on October 7, 2013.

Russ and Paola's story got so popular amongst the viewers that they were recast for four seasons of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Since then, Paola has acquired the status of one of the most followed 90 Day Fiancé celebrities on social media. She has over 1 million followers on Instagram and about 74K subscribers on her YouTube channel. The Colombian beauty is also set to debut as a wrestler with her in-ring name, Paola Blaze. While writing a lengthy Instagram post, Paola revealed that she had been training and waiting for this moment for so long. Her first fight is scheduled to be on May 1 at Holiday Inn, Miami West.

While many fans are thrilled to see her in her wrestling gear, others couldn't resist mocking her wrestling character. Unlike a few 90 Day Fiancé stars, Paola is genuinely grateful for the United States and the opportunities it had provided. She posted her citizenship certificate with an American flag on Instagram and wrote, "Today I had the honor to become an American citizen." She also posted a long video on YouTube, which documented her journey of becoming a citizen of America. She filmed the interview day, oath day, and her final remarks in the 18-minute long video. Paola's former co-stars, David Toborowsky, Annie Suwan, Darcey Silva, and Paul Staehle, appeared happy for her and left congratulatory messages in the comments section. Russ also posted an emotional message for his wife. He is happy for Paola and wrote, "this is a big step and a decision you have not taken lightly. I'm beyond proud of you and extremely grateful to have you at my side." Some of the wonderful messages from fans read, "Congrats! So proud of you my fellow American!" "Well done your hard work and efforts have been rewarded," and "It is beautiful to see you and to know that you achieved it."

The rising wrestling star was nervous about her interview because she wanted to be American citizenship, and it was a big deal for her. But she was also confident because she loves history and knew answers to all the 100 questions they were supposed to be asked. The United States and Colombia allow dual citizenship, so the former 90 Day Fiancé star Paola is free to keep citizenships of both countries.
