Fans weren't happy to see Russ and Paola Mayfield on 90 Fiancé: Pillow Talk. One might think that these series regulars would be welcomed with open arms to the humorous ensemble watch party. However, TLC might want to rethink its casting. These two got an icy reception.

The Mayfields appeared on last Sunday's episode of Pillow Talk. Although some fans took to social media to praise TLC for casting them on the show, many were left scratching their heads. It seems that a lot of 90 Day Fiancé viewers have mixed feelings about this couple.  Perhaps model Paola's unapologetic sexuality that makes some fans uncomfortable. Maybe it's Russ's devotion to his wife that they find annoying. Regardless, those bothered fans made their disinterest in the change loud and clear.

One wrote "Well, Pillow Talk was fun while it lasted,” while another asked, “When will Zied be on Pillow Talk in tight pajamas, smoking a hookah and eating couscous?" There were even suggestions from other 90 Day Fiancé fans that Danielle Jbali should be invited to the show.

Russ and Paola made their first appearance on 90 Day Fiancé season 1. From the beginning, their sexual attraction was immeasurable. However, there were some logistical issues holding back their relationship. For instance, Russ hails from Oklahoma, and his conservative parents and friends found Paola's direct and flamboyant Latina confidence hard to digest. Pao also aspired to sign with a modeling agency, which made some of Russ's insecurities bubble to the surface. Viewers were also shocked by Paola's best friend Juan, who became confrontational with Russ. This was another speed bump in their otherwise happy union. Things really soured after Russ lost his job and the reality of their life in his small town kicked in. This duo understands drama, so having them on Pillow Talk means they'll be able to give lots of insight on the other couples while amusing everyone with their bickering.">Paola from 90 Day Fiancé would later move to Florida to pursue her career while he struggled to regroup in a new role. With jealousies threatening to end their marriage, talk of Russ relocating for Paola's job started. He's now living with her in Miami and in 2019, the two became parents to a baby boy named Axel.

At this point, it's kind of up in the air why some fans expressed disdain over Russ and Pao Mayfield appearing on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk. It's a real shame, actually. After all, this couple has been one of the more transparent and relatable unions in the franchise. They've dealt with meddling friends, disapproving relatives, racism, shaming, and more, but have managed to come out of it with their relationship intact. Fans expressing a preference for Danielle Jbali, who is nothing in the way of entertaining, may have forgotten that Pillow Talk is supposed to be fun and amusing, not slow and creepy. Therefore, the sassy Latina and her laidback Okie are simply the best possible choice to step into the boudoir for some wordplay. This duo also understands drama, so having them on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk means they'll be able to give lots of insight into the other couples while amusing everyone with their bickering.
