90 Day Fiancé fans are curious about Nicole Nafziger's backstory, and the baby daddy responsible for her daughter, May. Single mother to her daughter May, Nicole and her Moroccan fiancé Azan Tefou are notorious for creating many controversies. While the most major scandal to date remains Azan’s alleged previous marriage, 90 Day Fiancé viewers have oftentimes wondered about Nicole’s baby daddy. Here’s taking a look at Nicole’s ex and if she’s right in making May call Azan, “Daddy.”
Florida native Nicole is infamous for starring in multiple seasons and spin-offs of 90 Day Fiancé and still calling her wedding off three times. Since season 4 of the original reality show, Nicole has documented her relationship with Azan, aka Hassan M’Raouni, who she’d met on a dating app. Azan showed disinterest in his lover the moment they met in person, repeatedly fat-shamed her, and infamously mouthed his “55 percent” line to show how attracted he was to Nicole. 90 Day Fiancé fans saw the former barista give Azan $6,000 for his beauty store that turned out to be a farce, and many alleged that it was used by him to secure a divorce from his ex, a cousin he’d married at 16. It was rumored that Nicole knew about his “unhappy” marriage the entire time, and as an added kicker, the Azan also allegedly had three kids! So would having another one in his brood have been a problem? Perhaps not, as Nicole demonstrated on 90 Day Fiancé by letting May refer to Azan as daddy.
Nicole was 21 when she met then 23-year-old Azan in 2016, which seems to have been much after her relationship with her supposed baby daddy. According to the sleuths at Soap Dirt, Nicole’s old Facebook posts,which are now obviously deleted, suggest she was dating a man named Steve from 2011 to 2013. Screenshots from the man’s FB profile suggest that he was very much in love with Nicole, as at one point, a status update read, “You called me fiancé I love you Nicole M. [his last name]!!” The person also calls Nicole his “country snowflake” and his “one and only”, along with referring to the 90 Day Fiancé star as the “best girlfriend.” It’s later with an August 2013 post that the man who back then worked as a truck loader made a public announcement about Nicole and him “having a girl!!”, which he is “super happy” about.
The article states that Nicole had previously admitted to still being in contact with May’s bio dad, but also that he doesn’t see his daughter on a regular basis or have custody. He’s supposed to have video-chatted with the little girl a few times but has never met her in person. Steve has a dormant account on Instagram where the profile picture features a different girl, indicating that, like his 90 Day Fiancé star ex, he too has moved on.
Nicole and Azan had reportedly met when May was just 20 months old. Thus, knowing how close the 90 Day Fiancé stars are, as Nicole suggests, the child has had Azan as a father figure growing up. With his alleged three children, Azan could also have experience in raising kids, which explains the pacifier episode and could have also influenced Nicole into asking May to think of him as her father. May, now 5 years old, often shows up on Nicole's Instagram, and her gamer-girl mom also keeps teasing having a second baby with Azan via her clickbait posts. Now, if only Nicole could prove her 90 Day Fiancé critics wrong by showing that her parenting skills are not debatable after all.
