While viewers are big fans of some 90 Day Fiancé content, other programs have been panned for casting undesirable couples and singles. TLC just announced two new franchise spin-off shows set to feature fan-favorite couples. However, not all 90 Day Fiancé fans think that the network made the right choice by having the two new shows join the franchise.
The recently announced franchise spin-off shows are titled David & Annie: After The 90 Days and Loren & Alexei: After The 90 Days, and feature popular couples David and Annie Toborowsky and Loren and Alexei Brovarnik, respectively. Parents Alexei and Loren were featured in season 3 after American Loren connected with Ukrainian-born Alexei in Israel. The couple has since expanded their family with the birth of their two sons. Meanwhile, David and Annie appeared in season 5 after impoverished American David met Annie in Thailand and memorably worked to pay off her dowry. The duo has since created successful lives in the United States and become two of the most prominent faces in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.

While the two couples selected for the shows are regarded as popular franchise duos, not many viewers voiced that the franchise needs even more spin-off shows, especially since 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? already follows franchise couples after marriage. "What’s next? 30 days before the 90 days?" one commenter asked. "Don't be silly- After the 90 Days: Pillow Talk, followed by After the 90 Days Strikes Back!" another fan joked back. Many franchise fans expressed that TLC was not listening to their viewers, as franchise fans have voiced that they would prefer to see new couples cast in content rather than repeatedly check in on the same duos season after season.
Some viewers are concerned that the new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off shows will lead to stale and scripted drama being aired. Many franchise fans were skeptical of Happily Ever After season 6, since featuring the same couples too often can lead to them inventing drama for a plot line. "Aw I’m sad and feel like my 90 day obsession is coming to an end because there’s no chance in hell I would watch either of these," one commenter lamented. The recently aired 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 was already slammed by franchise fans for featuring too many returning couples. Therefore, it appears that TLC truly is ignoring audience advice to feature fresh content. However, the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days has drawn a lot of frustrated viewers back to the franchise. The fifth season, which will premiere on Sunday, will introduce seven new couples with only one returning cast member. Many 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans hope to see the franchise move in the direction of featuring similar new content rather than continually recycle the same couples in their own shows.
