90 Day: The Single Life cast member Natalie is encountering new obstacles in her pursuit of love interest Josh Weinstein from an unlikely source—Josh's ex-wife, Candice. Josh and Natalie have had a tempestuous relationship, including several on-camera fights during The Single Life season 3. These incidents have left fans wondering if Josh has called it quits and moved on, but these latest developments show Natalie fostering a bond with people close to Josh.
In a preview clip of the next Single Life episode posted to ET Online, Natalie is seen taking a boat trip with Josh and his ex-wife Candice. The divorced duo attempt to teach Natalie how to fish, after which Candice asks Natalie deeper questions about her relationship with Josh. Candice says that Josh wants to make sure that she approves of who he is dating and that he will take her advice to heart. Candice admits that, even though they are officially divorced after nine years of marriage, she and Josh are still "super close. He's my best friend. I tell him about my day, I tell him I love you. People sometimes think we're together."
Natalie Mordovtseva Isn't Josh's Usual Type
90 Day Fiancé star Natalie seems initially cold to the line of questioning and attempts to turn it around on Candice to ask about her relationship with Josh. However, Natalie also admits that the close nature of Candice and Josh's relationship does not bother her, although she does ask if other women that Josh has dated have been scared off by it. Natalie asked Candace if she is different from the other girls Josh has dated, and Candace told her that he usually, "dates girls that are younger" and that she is "a different look." An uncharacteristic moment of silence from Natalie follows.
The Ukranian native's history in the 90 Day franchise has been fraught with difficulty, both externally and self-created. Given Natalie's previous history, one would expect a different reaction when confronted with the ex-wife of a significant other. Fans who followed her relationship with Mike through 90 Day Fiancé and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? are aware of a certain jealousy and penchant for screaming that mark Natalie's more heated engagements. This first meeting with the ex going smoothly shows a version of Natalie that is at odds with the one that started a heated argument when Josh would not change his long-settled work schedule to be with her.
There are glimpses of the usual Natalie in this clip, particularly when she takes the interview segment to bemoan the futility of the fishing trip. Her relatively-calm demeanor, however, points to a change in how she will approach this relationship. With fan theories suspecting that Natalie's entire storyline is scripted, a shift towards a kinder, gentler Natalie as a form of redemption arc would only add fuel to that fire. As it stands now, she has encountered a love interest's ex-wife without causing a scene, and seems to be better for it. Fans will have to wait and see if this moment is the beginning of a new Natalie on 90 Day: The Single Life.
