A recent 90 Day Fiancé scene with Natalie Mordovtseva being rude when asked to cook the Ukrainian dish golubtsi by Mike Youngquist for his mom Trish has annoyed fans. While Natalie is rumored to have separated from Mike even before their wedding anniversary, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 is still showing them together. The TLC spin-off’s timeline is now in November 2020, with Mike and Natalie going to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to celebrate Thanksgiving and his birthday with mother Trish. And although Trish has made her dislike for Natalie well-known, the way Mike’s wife reacted to his request about the stuffed cabbage rolls is bringing Natalie major criticism.

Season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? so far looks like a slow descent into Natalie and Mike’s toxic 90 Day Fiancé relationship finally seeing its end. After having a tough time both on 90 Day Fiancé season 7 and season 8, Mike and Natalie converted their loveless relationship into a marriage. Fans had predicted a break-up, but spoilers suggested that Natalie and Mike did get married in April 2020 but are not a couple anymore. Rumors of a possible baby also surfaced, and Natalie pushed them away, but the season 8 couple’s Tell-All filmed in February 2020 showed fans that Mike’s mother, Trish, was strongly against their marriage. In fact, Trish had asked Mike’s neighbor Tamara Authier to object to the wedding during the ceremony, which made Natalie clearly detest her mother-in-law.

But with Natalie not being a fan-favorite in the first place, some 90 Day Fiancé viewers feel that Trish may have been right in her own way to stop the wedding. While Natalie has previously been criticized for calling Mike low class with a low IQ, her arrogant behavior seems to have doubled over the course of the seasons. A segment from episode five of 90 Day Fiancé showed Mike and Natalie driving to the airport to catch a flight for Oklahoma. As Mike tried to lift Natalie’s mood, Natalie was seen snapping at him thanks to her losing sleep over meeting Trish. “You can make your favorite dish for Thanksgiving,” suggested Mike, but his 90 Day Fiancé co-star sternly replied that golubtsi “takes four hours, three hours to cook,” angering several Reddit fans.

When 90 Day Fiancé's Mike said that she could team up with Trish to make it, Natalie’s comment was, “I don’t need a team. It should be made by Ukrainians.” Natalie further mockingly added, “Because it’s traditional, and traditional dishes should be made by people who are native.” A fan posted a screengrab on Reddit and called Natalie an “ugly fail photoshop queen,” as another fan called her out for cooking “mediocre” food on her YouTube videos and making “bastardized American sushi.” Another fan noted that making golubtsi was “an opportunity to connect with Mike and his mom and she shot it down.” The TLC viewer also added that cabbage rolls are not just native to Natalie’s country but are “traditional to most of Eastern Europe.

As per SpruceEats, stuffed cabbage roll recipes “exist in nearly every cuisine and are considered comfort food to the highest degree.” These can be strictly vegetarian with buckwheat groats, barley or millet, and made with beef, lamb or pork, or all three. As per the source, Bulgaria calls them "sarmi" and Croatia calls them "sarma," and they’re also known as cavolo ripieno in Italy. Fans think according to Natalie's own logic she shouldn’t be cooking pizza and pasta, as some said the 90 Day Fiancé star was “just nasty.
