Although it’s Natalie Mordvotseva who first preferred to eat carrots over the French toast that her now-husband Mike Youngquist made for her on 90 Day Fiancé, her new cooking tutorials have her singing a different tune. Apart from facing flak for the way she uses filters in her videos or eats her hair while popping sushi in her mouth, it’s Natalie’s hypocrisy that’s giving TLC viewers something to talk about. The self-proclaimed season 8 vegetarian Natalie has been cooking fish in most of her videos but this time around, the 90 Day Fiancé star wife used lots of “unhealthy” butter in her pancake recipe that fans claim are really crepes.

After having met through mutual friends, 90 Day Fiancé couple Mike and Natalie who were both going through divorces, connected and were engaged in Paris. But since throwing away Mike’s ring and accusing him of cheating in season 7, Natalie ended up losing his love. The Ukrainian journalist picked up petty fights with Mike over his IQ, class, his weight, his drinking, and lastly, his food habits. While calling herself a vegetarian, Natalie chided Mike’s carnivorous ways and made him feel guilty about eating breakfast and also grumbled as he reached for butter in front of his mom. But Mike’s mother Trish shut Natalie down in her own sweet way by claiming that butter is good for the mind. It seems like 90 Day Fiancé star Natalie putting her mother-in-law’s advice to good use is also getting her negative reviews from fans.

As fans continue scratching their heads over why 90 Day Fiancé celeb Natalie is suddenly keen on cooking, many think she’s making these parody videos to get a good laugh. In her latest attempt at being a food blogger, the 35-year-old Kyiv resident attempted to make pancakes, which fans claimed were actually crepes and also burnt at the end. In the comments on 90DayFiancéNow’s post who’ve reshared Natalie’s tutorial, comments say things such as, “But but but… Natalie ‘I hate butter,’" "Why is she performing like this is p*rn? Nobody presents a cooking show like this, anywhere,” and “this is incredibly tragic and painful to watch.” Another fan writes how Natalie “acted like french toast was sooooo unhealthy for Mike. Decide your brand.” But one 90 Day Fiancé viewer declares, “that’s a crepe.”

Still, what Natalie is making in the video does appear to be a blini or Russian pancake that’s traditionally made with yeast-raised buckwheat flour, While 90 Day Fiancé personality Natalie tops hers with strawberries, blinis can be served with melted butter, sour cream, caviar, chopped eggs, smoked salmon and a sip or two of vodka. Pronounced (BLEE-nee,) as SpruceEats suggests, they are now prepared in hundreds of ways – “with white flour only, cornmeal, sweet, savory, you name it.” Although they do come closer to a crepe, they aren’t paper-thin the way authentic crepes are supposed to be.

Perhaps Natalie should have explained that it was blinis that she was making by stating the major difference between them and American pancakes. But most of the 90 Day Fiancé star’s content these days has been found problematic by her followers. Will her next video have Natalie taking their feedback into consideration, or will the 90 Day Fiancé star make more content that rubs fans off the wrong way?
