Jovi Dufren suggested having another child on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After to fix his marriage with Yara Zaya, but that might not be the answer to their problems. Jovi and Yara first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé season 8. Between his party-boy attitude and working away from home for months at a time, the duo realized they’d have more challenges to overcome than they thought. Then, weeks before their wedding, Yara learned she was pregnant with their daughter, Mylah.
After Jovi and Yara got married, Yara moved them out of New Orleans and into a home more suitable for a family. However, Yara is still struggling to adjust to life in America. With her new Green Card in hand, Yara flew to Prague with Jovi and Mylah to help her friends and family during the war, but the trip also included apartment hunting. This caused 90 Day Fiancé's Jovi to worry about his relationship status with Yara, and he’s doing everything in his power to keep his family together—including suggesting having another child. However, Yara isn’t onboard and doesn’t believe it will save their marriage.
90 Day Fiancé's Yara Zaya Wants Support From Jovi Dufren
The idea of having more children to “save a marriage” is a tale as old as time that rarely works out for anyone. One of Yara’s complaints is feeling suffocated and wanting more support. Between being home alone during the pandemic and raising a child in a foreign country, Yara’s dealt with many transitional changes. While she claimed moving to Prague wasn’t her intention, the support from her friends and family must be enticing. Unfortunately, having another child won’t give her the extra support from Jovi that she’s searching for.
90 Day Fiancé's Jovi Dufren Wants to Control Yara Zaya
Jovi claimed to want another child because he thought it would strengthen the couple's marriage. Since the duo aren’t seeing eye-to-eye on buying property in Europe, Jovi is worried that Yara wants to divorce him or keep their family separated for an extended period of time. However, Jovi is clearly uncomfortable with the idea of Yara living closer to her family, and as she continues to push for her wants, his behavior becomes more controlling. Suggesting another child appeared to be a last resort manipulation tactic for Jovi.
90 Day Fiancé's Yara Zaya Isn't Ready For Another Child
In the end, Yara told Jovi she’s not ready for another child. At the time of filming, Mylah wasn’t two years old yet, which for many women might not be enough time to consider expanding the family. Not to mention, Yara is facing turmoil as her mother and friends struggle overseas. Jovi and Yara are struggling to communicate, and Jovi doesn’t appear to realize how he’s lacking support for his wife. Alas, having another child would likely add more chaos to their already rocky relationship.
Overall, it’s obvious that Jovi cares for Yara and Mylah, and the home that they’ve built. While he might not always convey his love and appreciation appropriately, Jovi does appear to be working with the best interest of his family. Unfortunately, though, adding children to the mix as a way to solve a problem rarely works. However, the season’s not over yet, and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After fans are eager to see how the couple fare in the upcoming episodes.
