While many cast members have appeared in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise since the show debuted in 2014, season 5 star Molly Hopkins has become one of the best-known cast members. The owner of Livi Rae Lingerie is currently dating on 90 Day: The Single Life. The Discovery+ spin-off show reveals insight into Molly’s blossoming romance with Brooklyn cop Kelly. Before her 90 Day Fiancé journey began, the mother-of-two also co-starred in Double Divas with her best friend and business partner Cynthia Richards. Molly sat down to discuss her leap to reality TV fame on 90 Day Fiancé in an exclusive interview.

The outspoken Georgia business owner became well-known after she chronicled her relationship with Luis Mendez on season 5. Molly became a fan-favorite cast member due to her bold words and hilarious commentary, but her marriage with Luis was doomed from the start. While some critics pointed out the couple’s 15-year age gap, it quickly became clear that Molly and Luis were simply not compatible. The couple was often engaged in screaming matches, and 26-year-old Luis showed no interest in being a stepfather to Molly’s two girls. Viewers were not surprised when the mother divorced her Dominican Republic husband after just six months of marriage. While Luis quickly remarried, Molly moved on to be one of the franchise’s most successful stars.

Molly revealed that it wasn't her decision to appear on 90 Day Fiancé. She wasn't even the person who signed her up for the program. Instead, it was her business partner that pushed her to appear on the international marriage show. "Several years ago, my business partner was watching 90 Day Fiancé. It was her favorite show, she was binge-watching, and she was like, 'Molly, you're gonna kill me.' And I was like, 'What are you talking about?' She said, 'I've been watching this show. It's my favorite show, and you are not going to believe this, but they asked at the end if I know anybody in this situation getting a K-1 visa. It's you and Luis' story so much, so I signed you up.'" Molly revealed.

As expected, Molly was surprised by the news. Though she had appeared on Double Divas, she didn't know anything about 90 Day Fiancé when she was signed up for the show. "At that point, I was just dating him [Luis], but we had decided we were going to get married. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with the show or this whole 90-day process," Molly said. The mother-of-two now stars on another TV show, 90 Day: The Single Life. This time, she knew what to expect before joining the cast. "I didn't really have hesitation," she said about The Single Life.  "I just know some of the territory that comes with it, like the fans and the people. People put so much stock and faith in television, and their perception is their reality. I think for me, it was a little different because I have a lot of fan love. A lot of women really love me, and I think that they just see both sides."

Her journey on reality television has been eased by Molly's ability to know her truth. The mother-of-two always makes sure to live her truth and not allow "crazy or negative" comments to affect her journey. She said that she knows who she is, as well as her mission and purpose. The business owner's journey on The Single Life has been far more positive for her than her ill-fated marriage with Luis on 90 Day Fiancé. Molly is currently dating a cop named Kelly who is very compatible with the mother-of-two. Not only is Kelly receptive to Molly's two daughters, but he has chemistry with Molly. The new couple already engaged in a steamy phone call that proves they might be a franchise couple who is in it for the long haul.
