90 Day Fiancé has featured many dramatic and problematic couples since its debut in 2014, but one of the most mismatched couples in the series was Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali. The American and Tunisian proved that opposites don't always attract, as many viewers saw their messy split coming.

Season 2 couple Mohamed and Danielle appeared mismatched from the start, with 41-year-old mother-of-four Danielle and 26-year-old Mohamed having drastically different feelings for each other. From the start, it was clear to viewers that Tunisian Mohamed was not attracted to the Ohio mother. However, the couple went through with their marriage. Unsurprisingly, the union ended in a messy divorce. However, the former couple appeared to have shockingly patched things up since splitting. Here is how the timeline of the former spouses took them from fiancés to spouses to exes to tentative friends over the years.

2014/2015

Mohamed and Danielle first appeared in 2014 on season 2 of the hit TLC show. The couple had met in a chatroom online, prompting Mohamed to fly to the United States on his K-1 fiancé visa to join Danielle. Things were strained from the start, as Mohamed did not embrace his future wife at the airport or kiss her on their wedding day. The couple faced a rocky 90-day engagement that culminated in many fights and an ill-fated union.

Problems were apparent for the couple from the beginning, as Danielle discovered Mohamed lacked a job and Mohamed found out Danielle was in a precarious financial situation. A number of police reports were made after the couple married, with Mohamed accusing Danielle of stealing money, ruining his clothing, and opening accounts in his name.

2016

Mohamed and Danielle returned to TLC for spin-off show 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? in 2016 and 2017, which only brought more drama to their union. Mohamed admitted that he was never attracted to Danielle and he went on to slam her hygiene and accuse the mother-of-four of having smelly lady parts and peeing on him. He cited the peeing as the reason why the intimacy between the two of them had died.

The second season of the spin-off show focused on Danielle’s attempts to get Mohamed kicked out of the United States. The younger man reportedly left her only two months after obtaining his green card and was rumored to be with another woman in Miami. That was when Danielle made the ill-fated mistake of trying to win her husband back. When Mohamed wanted nothing to do with her, Danielle flung a folder of documents at him and threatened to deport him as cops arrived to calm her down.

2017

Though Danielle originally wanted to annul the marriage so that Mohamed’s residency would be threatened, she eventually agreed to divorce him so that he could stay in the country. The couple divorced and Mohamed moved to Texas in 2017 to start his life over in the U.S. Danielle appeared to still remain bitter about their sham of a marriage which had ended, like it had lasted, in waterworks and arguments. Radar Online reported that Danielle sued Mohamed for $12,500 in September 2017, on grounds of fraud due to the relationship being used to secure his immigration status.

2018/2019

Since getting divorced, Mohamed has been living life in America. He has since lived in Ohio, Miami, Austin and Chicago before settling down in Indianapolis. He started work as a truck driver in 2019 in order to make money, which sees him spending extended periods of time on the road with his dog. Danielle also appeared to move on from the messy split, as she entered a new relationship not too long after the couple officially called it quits. Both Danielle and Mohamed share an insight into their lives on social media.

Danielle Mullins Jbali TLC: 90 Day Fiancé red top glasses

An April 2020 episode of spin-off show 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined revealed some shocking news about the former couple. Though Danielle stated that she hadn’t seen her ex in three years, she revealed that he had reached out to her a month ago and they have been talking occasionally since. The couple apparently was working on building a friendship after forgiving each other.

These days, Danielle and Mohamed are definitely done for good when it comes to romance. However, it looks like their friendship might be able to persist. This shocking turn of events proves that just because things don't work out romantically doesn't mean former partners still can't be friends. Mohamed and Danielle unexpectedly ended up with a happy ending that viewers didn't see coming- even if it wasn't romantic.
