Incompatibility is a word that best describes 90 Day Fiancé couple Natalie Mordovtseva and Mike Youngquist’s relationship in season eight. Since their previous appearance in season 7, Mike and Natalie have given TLC viewers some of the most awkward moments on the series. Recently, Mike declaring he didn’t love Natalie during a couple’s therapy session came as a huge shock to fans, who were also surprised by the Sequim resident’s nonchalance during the counseling session. His apparent disinterest in working things out with his Ukrainian fiancée was accentuated by him wearing a Bluetooth earpiece throughout the entire conversation.
Over the course of season eight, Mike and Natalie have had many altercations. From arguing about class and IQ to throwing around accusations of cheating, this couple can't seem to agree on anything. Still, rumors suggest Mike and Natalie did eventually tie the knot. Although the couple’s marriage documents were leaked online, Mike not giving Natalie her ring back, even with barely a month left on her visa, has viewers worried. The latest episode saw Mike and Natalie kiss and make-up. However, does he still think the Ukrainian actress doesn’t fit into his ideal world? Mike has been showing multiple signs of disinterest in Natalie, from not having a dresser ready or a fridge stocked before her arrival, to wearing his Bluetooth device during serious conversations.
However, some viewers claim Mike's outdated Bluetooth is actually a hearing aid. The fact that Mike has been wearing the earpiece in quite a few of his scenes struck fans as strange. Many wondered how he could blame Natalie for poor communication while sitting on the therapist’s couch with the device on, clearly looking like he wasn't remotely interested in the conversation. But a Reddit fan who happened to watch season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé pointed out Mike wore the earpiece in older episodes as well. “Mike had the Bluetooth earpiece when he was in Ukraine!” the TLC viewer captioned a photo of Mike from when he visited Natalie’s Kyiv house.
On seeing the picture, most 90 Day Fiancé fans attacked it with the usual jokes about Mike using it to “speak with the aliens” and the TLC producers using it to “feed him lines/what to do next.” However, one fan pointed out how, if Mike has had it for so long, it makes sense for it to be a “hearing aid and not Bluetooth headset.” A comment agreeing to this statement said, “Yes. I absolutely think it’s for hearing and I swear in one episode he said he had bad hearing in one ear.” While a different user disagreed and said Mike only used it when he was walking down the streets in Ukraine, one fan argued there is “a clear wire around his ear,” which is a giveaway that it is a hearing device of some kind. “Like an aid or a white noise device,” explained the fan.
Knowing it is such a huge talking point amongst 90 Day Fiancé fans, Mike may choose to address the Bluetooth headset in the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All episode the season eight stars have filmed. Natalie supposedly leaked she is still together with Mike in the USA by sharing a picture from the Tell-All with him seated by her side. It seems in spite of Natalie’s nasty comments and Mike’s commitment issues, they did manage to tie the knot. Maybe it was the aliens themselves that helped Natalie get her ring and Mike back by the end of these two hectic 90 Day Fiancé seasons.
