It’s always fun to watch prospective 90 Day Fiancé partners meet their future in-laws and it was just the case when Natalie Mordovtseva met Mike Youngquist’s mom Trish. While season 7 of the TLC show had Mike impressing Natalie’s mother in Ukraine, fans wondered how her meeting with Trish could go. But while 90 Day Fiancé’s Natalie seems to have found “a magic button” to Mike’s heart in Trish, Mike’s mother’s comment about “real” butter being good for the mind and “memory” is what left more fans confused.

A previous episode of 90 Day Fiancé season 8 threw fans into a frenzy when Mike and Natalie had one of their biggest fights yet over yet another non-consequential issue. Mike’s dietary habits concerned Natalie who accused her future husband of eating fried food and not adapting the veg-way like her. “When you're losing kilos, then we'll talk," Natalie jabbed at 90 Day Fiancé’s Mike and later hurt him further by claiming he was low class and had a lower IQ than her. While the couple did make up, Natalie met Mike’s mother Trish who’d arrived in Sequim from Oklahoma. As Trish admitted that she didn’t have a “super impression” of Natalie, the two women ended up going for dinner later with Mike. And as 90 Day Fiancé’s Natalie, who’d also shown her love for fitness in season 7 while claiming her second ex-husband was a fit army man, Trish butted in by saying butter is good for memory. Surely, Natalie was taken aback but her priority now was to win Trish over, but 90 Day Fiancé fans began frantically Googling “is butter good for your mind?”

As Mike slathered butter on some bread, Natalie quipped, “Try not to eat butter,” but Trish’s reply was “Butter is good for you, it’s very good for your mind,” with an emphasis on “real butter.” Upon being prodded by a 90 Day Fiancé producer, Mike’s mother declared, “It helps with your memory.” Just her saying this had TLC viewers tweeting things such as, “Mike’s mom has some wise advice. It’s probably all the butter” and “if butter was good for my mind I would have excelled in many, many more areas of my life.”

Is Butter Good For The Brain Mind Memory In 90 Day Fiance

However, according to The Health Improvement Center, “including more saturated fat in the diet,” does have its benefits. The article notes that every cell membrane in the body requires saturated fat, more important as the “brain is made of 60 percent fat.” This according to the source, it's essential for a person to ensure they are getting enough fat in their diet “to have healthy cells and a sharp mind.” Additionally, it also states that there has been “significant research” into the benefits of saturated fat “and reduction of Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia and age-related cognitive decline.”

On the contrary, Harvard Health Publishing says that “bad” fat may affect memory and be harmful to the brain, with the word “bad” being used to describe saturated fat which is found in foods such as “red meat and butter.”

So, while butter may be good for one’s mind to a certain extent, overdoing it also is not a wise decision. In this case, fans are suggested to take the 90 Day Fiancé star mom's advice about butter with a pinch of salt.
