On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episode 13, Mike Berk and Ximena Morales are on the verge of breaking up, and many viewers believe that Mike's enabling of Ximena is leading to a split. Mike is a 34-year-old with little relationship experience. Ximena is a 24-year-old mother of two who appears to have a hard time letting go of the freedom that comes with being single. Upon their first meeting, Mike proposed and Ximena accepted. However, it appears that Ximena changed her mind during their almost two-month separation.
While Mike was back in the US, Ximena acted strangely. Mike grew worried and planned a surprise trip to Colombia. Ximena wasn’t very excited about that, and a lot of tension grew between the two. 90DF's Ximena wanted a breast augmentation and tummy tuck at Mike’s expense. When he didn't agree, she admitted that she didn't love him anymore. To communicate effectively, Mike asked his friend Nelcy to translate for them. At that point, Ximena called him a "weird bug" and a "degenerate." The relationship wasn’t looking good for the two and Nelcy confirmed his worst fear, which was that Ximena was only after his money. However, many fans and critics think that Mike encouraged her gold-digging behavior.
Ximena admitted to Nelcy that she was previously working, but she stopped after Mike began paying for everything. In an Instagram post, Ximena revealed the truth about how she met him. She worked as a cam girl and met Mike on a cam platform. He offered to pay for everything so she could stop working. This coincided with Ximena’s introduction at the beginning of the season, when she revealed all the household items that 90DF's Mike purchased for her home, in addition to paying the rent.
Those weren’t the only things he paid for. In fact, the argument ensued due to Mike taking her wedding dress shopping on his dime, but still refusing to pay for the plastic surgeries that she wanted. Whenever they had troubles, he threw more money into the pot to entice her to be happy. Now, that is something that she expects. Although Ximena’s behavior is far from admirable, it’s not entirely her fault, as he led her to believe that was acceptable behavior.
There were moments throughout their relationship where Ximena’s feelings appeared to be genuine. For example, she shared that she appreciated the help with Nelcy. Nonetheless, after she bluntly revealed her lack of love and abundance of disgust, Mike should’ve gotten the hint. While his loyalty is admirable, 90DF's Mike deserves much better, and it seems like he might be starting to realize that. The upcoming previews revealed a confrontational Mike questioning her attitude change when money is involved.
