Though Mike started the season as a sympathetic 90 Day Fiancé franchise newcomer, he is quickly being slammed by viewers for his aggressive behavior. Many Before the 90 Days fans are calling Mike out for how he reacted to being dumped.
Things between New Yorker Mike and Colombian single mother Ximena finally reached a breaking point. After being fed up with Mike’s gross behavior, lack of manners and insistence on getting married, Ximena finally broke things off. A stunned Mike first demanded all of his past presents back and then took off running in the streets before insisting on going back to Ximena’s family home. Mike then attempted to shame Ximena for being an adult online entertainment worker and insisted on remaining in Ximena’s home since he paid the rent. Meanwhile, Ximena begged Mike to go to a hotel that she said she would pay for, as she asked him to leave her and her children alone after the breakup.
Reddit user BangandBopIt shared their outrage over Mike’s shocking behavior. “OMG Mike just leave already!!” the user captioned a screenshot of Mike attempting to convince Ximena’s sister to let him stay and say goodbye to Ximena's two children. “Sister Ximena was practically doing hostage negotiations,” one top commenter captioned the scene. Many viewers were alarmed over Mike’s refusal to leave Ximena and her children alone. “I wouldn't want him anywhere near the kids,” another user wrote. Commenters agreed that Ximena did the right thing by forcing Mike out of her home, even though he insisted on seeing her children.
Mike’s delusions are shocking to viewers, as he kept coming up with justifications for harassing Ximena and insisted on staying in her home to win her back, despite her making it clear their relationship was over. “The way he looks at his phone each time she says it's over. I think this translator is broken. Just can't be right,” one commenter noted. “Mike has rocks in his head. He keeps saying that they need to work in the relationship. On the other hand, viewers praised Ximena for holding her ground. “My favorite part was when he tried to slut shame her and then she spilled all his tea,” one commenter praised her.
Though Before the 90 Days viewers are horrified with how Mike is behaving, many have found a newfound respect for Ximena. She held her ground during the breakup and refused to compromise herself for Mike when she knew he wasn’t right for her. Ximena also agreed to return all of the things Mike bought her and assume financial responsibility for her family. Though Ximena was originally called a gold digger, she returned her rings to Mike and offered to pay for his hotel room.
