Angela Deem from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? was in tears when she confessed to being shocked by how her husband Michael Ilesanmi reacted to her surgery. The usually boisterous Angela showed a different side during the Tell-All after revealing her weight loss. While the Tell-All eventually ended with Angela flashing and cursing at the cameras, given Aunt Lydia’s personal comments to her, the meemaw started off the Part 1 reunion on an emotional note. Since Michael was never supportive of Angela, who weighed 273.5 pounds before weight loss surgery, Angela was harsh with him on HEA season 6. However, it seems that 90 Day Fiancé star Angela was also hurting emotionally.

Angela, who’s 55 years old, has been a fixture in the TLC show for a few years now, with Nigerian man Michael, 33, who still hasn't come to America. Fans have been entertained, angered, and grossed out by Angela’s antics so far. On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Angela did show her aggressive demeanor. Michael didn’t seem to be in favor of Angela’s decision to get surgery, although she repeated that she was gaining weight inexplicably, which was risky. In episode 1, Angela spoke of getting gastric balloon surgery, and it was later revealed that she had five operations in a day, after which she’s become a dress size 11 as compared to her previous size, 22.

It was after numerous procedures that 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Angela lost about 106 pounds. As per her interview with Us Weekly, “The first three months [were] the hardest months” of her life. Angela referred to it as a journey, and not just a physical one. She called it “an emotional journey.” Angela said she had not been able to eat “for a couple of months.” Now, she's opened up about Michael body-shaming her for it.

Angela Breaks Down In Tears Due To Michael’s Taunts

90 Day Fiance's Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi

During the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All Part 1, the screen showed Angela from her first-ever reunion episode and compared it to her after-surgery look. Michael was asked what he thought of her new body. “Ah to be honest… I’m just seeing it more clearly,” he said, before calling Angela “sweet and sexy” and wishing for her to be “healed and healthy.” Although Michael said, “I’m here, baby,” Angela recalled having “no support from him at all.” Angela remembered waking up and looking down to see “there’s nothing there.” Then, Michael started complaining and making fun of her, by saying her “t**s were too small,” which was very painful to her. Michael would “make fun and make fun,” so Angela suggested that she could get breast implants, and he shockingly agreed.

While Michael was okay with Angela getting bigger breasts via an augmentation, he apparently was averse to any kind of surgery before that, even though it was for her health. In an interview with Dr. Drew Pinksy, Angela had admitted that since there are “lots of young, beautiful women” in America, she wanted to look younger and better for her husband before Michael got his visa. During the Tell-All, Angela said, “I’m doing this for you, to be around longer and the grandkids.” The Hazlehurst, GA resident asked, “Well, who don’t want to be sexy for their husband?"

Not only did Michael not check on Angela after her procedures were done, but he was also mean to her. “You don’t treat people like that, that just come out of surgery,” Angela explained. On the other hand, Angela couldn’t walk to the grocery store and was out of breath due to something that wasn’t a “smoking issue.” Angela confessed, “I really thought I was gonna die, like, really.” She told her other 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? cast members, “He doesn’t get it. He’s 33, I’m 55. I possibly could not be alive when he gets here. All of this we put up with and he’s not gonna make it because I’m not gonna make it.” The weight loss journey was an emotional rollercoaster for Angela.
