At the time, she felt like she would die if she didn't have the surgery.
She was having trouble breathing and having difficulty doing the easy tasks. America's favorite meemaw was also struggling to keep up with her grandkids. She was overweight, which could have affected her other body organs. Moreover, she wanted to look younger and sexier for her 33-year-old husband. The 55-year-old TLC star said (via Us Weekly), "I thought that marrying Michael would make my worries go away, but actually, they've gotten worse." She is worried about the 22-year age difference and said that her skin is going to change and she will start looking older than she is. She added, "And Michael is still going to be as young as he looked the day I married him. So if I'm not young, I need to at least look the damn part and it starts with my weight."
Michael reassured his wife that he loves her the way she is and he likes big things. Angela said that she would still have big boobs and also get a big butt. But, the Nigerian native isn't convinced. In a confessional, he shared his fear: "People have lost their life getting this kind of surgery here in Nigeria. I feel she want to risk it all." He believes that Angela wants a quick result, so she would have to undergo "bigger surgeries." Michael isn't wrong. Every surgery comes with a few risks. Since Angela was supposed to get five surgeries, it also increased the probability of unforeseen complications.
