90 Day Fiancé star Memphis Smith’s career as a nurse practitioner is being celebrated by fans amidst her marriage with Hamza Moknii and all their baby drama. 34-year-old Memphis was mocked for her life decisions ever since she became a 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member who was going to marry her boyfriend Hamza, 26, in Tunisia without even knowing him or his language. Week after week, Memphis made more bad choices which have continued to get her lots of criticism. As Memphis currently dodges questions about how she got pregnant within two weeks of her Tunisia trip, there’s something about her that some fans are really proud of.

Every time Memphis is called the villain of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, she takes to Instagram to defend herself and often calls out the show for making her look bad. Memphis urged her Muslim partner to have sex with her in his mom’s house before marriage, only to rate his bedroom skills as unsatisfactory. She has asked Hamza to feed her bacon, raised her voice at him, and didn’t tell him bout the time she slept at her ex-husband’s place for four days. Communication issues hamper Memphis and Hamza’s romance, but in a recent episode that showed their wedding, she also admitted to not knowing what marriage ceremonies are like in Tunisia. There are comments about Memphis bringing a total stranger to her house to be a father to her two older kids.

But there are fans who aren’t letting Memphis’ successful educational and career journey go unnoticed. Reddit user u/saly_theCPA shared a photo of Memphis with a stethoscope captioned, “Appreciation post for Memphis: only 3% of foster kids graduate from a 4-year college.” The fan wrote how they were a foster kid like Memphis and personally don’t have any foster siblings that ended up finishing college aside from them. “It's more than just a 4 year degree as well. That's even less than 3%. 2 years after RN degree,” posted u/Human-Ad504. Many others agreed that nursing school is hard and becoming an NP like Memphis is harder, but she did it after all the struggles she faced growing up and while being a mom.

During her 90 Day Fiancé introduction, Memphis had spoken about her difficult childhood in foster care. Memphis’ mother didn’t have a good relationship with her owing to Deborah's drug addiction. It’s why Memphis had to shuttle between 12 different foster homes from when she was 11 until she turned 19 years old. Memphis has seemingly repaired the strained relationship she had with her mom and has tried her best to overcome her past trauma. As a single mom with a 14-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, Memphis wanted to become a self-sufficient woman to support her kids after her divorce. Memphis went to school for eight years, graduated with her master's degree, and started working as a nurse practitioner after that.

Hаmzа gives me а sense of fаmily thаt I don’t think I’ve ever truly felt before, аnd I deserve it," Memphis said during her wedding. She didn’t feel like postponing her wedding because Hamza’s family had taken her in as their own making her experience something she never had in her past. Memphis has her flaws and she may not be perfect, but even the decision to marry Hamza hastily was linked to her unstable childhood. Therefore, whatever Memphis’ future with Hamza holds for her is something she’ll have to deal with as a consequence of her actions. But Memphis seems to be successful at her job considering how she’s so keen on protecting her assets from Hamza. Memphis’ journey is indeed motivating regardless of whether she has a happily ever after with Hamza on 90 Day Fiancé.
