While talking to 90 Day Fiancé viewers, Memphis Smith reveals she decided to apply for the show with her Tunisian boyfriend on a whim. The 34-year-old reality star is featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 with her 27-year-old man Moknii Hamza. The couple has been receiving a lot of backlash since their debut on the popular TLC show. Many viewers find it strange that Memphis and Hamza have a language barrier but are still planning to get married within two weeks of meeting each other.

The couple can't properly communicate beyond saying the phrase "sexy time." In the last few episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Memphis received many negative comments for disrespecting Hamza's mother Hayet's house rules. She asked the couple to respect her culture and not share a bed before marriage. However,  Memphis was adamant about spending sexy time with Hamza. Consequently, this new 90 Day Fiancé duo ended up getting intimate on their first night together.

Since Memphis has been getting a huge backlash on social media, some viewers are curious to know why she even decided to apply for the show in the first place. Memphis addressed this in a couple of Instagram stories, explaining, "Well, to be honest I was sitting at home and I was bored drinking a truly hence I don't drink much but I guess it had me too relaxed and started typing. After that I said no more truly ever!" When another follower asked the same question, Memphis replied, "Pure ignorance to the whole process."

Someone else asked the new TLC star, "How do you site 'pure ignorance to the process?' Have you never seen the show?" Memphis responded, "Yes, but being a viewer is different than going through the process and not knowing what the results will be!" The single mom of two explained that she had watched the show, but nothing could have prepared her for the actual process of participating. It is clear that Memphis regrets being on reality TV, especially because of how she has been portrayed. After watching the Michigan native on the show, many 90 Day Fiancé viewers now think Memphis doesn't respect Hamza's culture or his mother, and that's why she decided to get intimate with him by ignoring the Muslim customs.

Some reality stars have claimed that they regret doing 90 Day Fiancé or its spin-offs because the editing painted them in a bad light. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Deavan Clegg claimed that reality TV is "evil and dark." She talked about selective editing and how it badly affected her real life. Memphis may not be enjoying her newfound fame because negative comments have overshadowed it. It doesn't sound like she wants to be a part of the show ever again, but she may change her mind after noticing the perks associated with being famous. In any case, 90 Day Fiancé viewers are wishing Memphis the best of luck in her future.
