90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days fans are confused with Mahogany Roca using a translator app with Ben Rathbun when she appears to be fluent in English. 22-year-old Mahogany and 52-year-old Ben met online when she across his shirtless modeling photos and sent him a friend request. Father of four Ben fell head over heels for Mahogany who’s as old as his oldest daughter and thought it was all a part of God’s plan due to their shared love for the Lord. While Ben overlooked the obvious filters on Mahogany’s photos, he also found out she’d lied to him about many things when they finally met in Peru. Ben has told 90 Day Fiancé viewers that Mahogany’s English isn’t perfect, but it ended up being a lie as well.

Mahogany charmed Ben by talking about their future together and how she will love him like no one’s ever loved him before. Former pastor Ben claimed Mahogany hit a nerve by saying that and pictured her as his “world” and his “future wife.” However, Mahogany didn’t feel the same way in person which came as a shock to Ben. She refused to acknowledge Ben as her boyfriend and concluded that Ben was the one who was “different” when they texted. In a recent episode of Before the 90 Days, Mahogany called out Ben for not telling her about how he doesn’t get along with his ex-wife and during her confessional admitted how Ben was “so much more immature” for his age. Mahogany wanted out of their relationship and Ben spoke about how “crushed” it made him feel.

Interestingly enough, this conversation happened via a translation app on Ben’s phone. Apart from translating her words, the app also converted what he said in English into Spanish for Mahogany to understand. Fans found it funny how Mahogany was reacting to what Ben said in English itself, which proved that she didn’t need the app to hear his thoughts in Spanish. There was even a point in the conversation where Mahogany corrected the translator. On top of that, Mahogany was also replying to Ben in English after the translator did its thing. If there was an issue with Mahogany not being fluent in the language, she also used the word “ironic” correctly during the confessional and conveniently drops her accent whenever needed. One reason behind Ben and Mahogany using the translator as per fans is that their storyline is scripted.

Ben Rathbun on 90 Day Fiancé Before The 90 Days

90 Day Fiancé is known for featuring couples with a language barrier. Overall, many other couples in the season are using a translation app. Alas, Mahogany and Ben are comfortable speaking to each other in English, unlike the others. It could be that Mahogany lied to Ben about not knowing English just like she did about her age when they were chatting. But now that she’s met him, she is having a hard time maintaining a potential lie. Amidst many other obvious and gaping holes in her story that Ben chooses to ignore, he also could be blinded by Mahogany so much that he hasn’t realized how good she is with his language.

Fans are mostly leaning towards the theory of Mahogany being a producer plant who happens to be a bad actress. Still, fans feel like TLC is allowing Ben and Mahogany to use the app in order to test their intelligence. Ben and Mahogany’s storyline, which started off as something fans couldn’t wait to watch on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, is now infuriating because it looks completely manufactured. There are suspicions of Ben and Mahogany having met before their first meeting on the show and there being absolutely no tensions between them since they are together in real-time. Besides, Mahogany greeting Ben with a “hi” and him replying with a “hola” further shows just how ridiculous their 90 Day Fiancé plot is.
