Ben developed such an intense interest in Mahogany that he believed she was God sent. Ben hurried to Peru to meet his future wife three months later without having seen Mahogany’s real face. Because neither Ben nor 90 Day Fiancé fans knew what Mahogany really looked like, viewers thought the woman who walked in the scene after a day and a half of delay was an actress.
But it’s not just Mahogany using apps to edit her face to make herself unrecognizable on Instagram and Facebook that made fans call her fake. Mahogany was someone who’d borrowed $1000 from the love-struck Ben during their 117 days of online chatting. She lied to Ben about her proficiency in English when Mahogany spoke it fluently on Before the 90 Days. She had told Ben she lived with her parents Jose and Sylvia when they were talking online, but in real life she gave him a tour of her own San Bartolo apartment. The house was clearly an Airbnb, which even Ben realized while he also found out how Mahogany had added two years to her real age and told him she was 24 while talking about getting married and having future kids.
Of course, Mahogany claimed she never meant all the things she’s told Ben. During the 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All, Mahogany confessed she didn’t want to give out her personal information to a stranger on the internet. “We’re talking about a 53-year-old man,” said Mahogany as she revealed she wanted to verify all the information Ben has provided before exploring a relationship with him. Mahogany declared she still wasn’t sure of her Before the 90 Days boyfriend Ben's intentions, which fans think is a lie. If there’s one thing that Ben with his predatory and stalkerish behavior has always been honest about are his intentions of making Mahogany is wife.
“I don’t want to have a date, like, with an old man like that because my English, as you can see, is not good,” said Mahogany as she defended all the accusations hurled at her by Ben’s friend Jessica Siciliano in near-perfect English. In her segments with Ben on B90, Mahogany was unsure of dating him and kept running away. However, when Ben went back to Peru a second time right before the Tell-All was filmed, Mahogany told him that she loves him “no matter what.” The screen flashed photos of Before the 90 Days' Ben and Mahogany kissing, videos of them climbing rocks at a beach, and her gushing, “oh my gosh, baby. I love you,” when he predicted that one year later, they would be “husband and wife.” One person who saw through Mahogany’s fakeness was her castmate Kim Menzies. “I’m calling bu****it on this, sorry,” Kim told Ben and added, “she is running game on you so bad.” Kim asked “little girl” Mahogany to grow up and spoke about Ben having good intentions because he went to Peru twice even though she kept ghosting him.

The more Mahogany runs away from Ben, the more simping he will do, which she’s very well aware of.
