Loren parents are both Jewish-American, an aspect of her background that ended up playing a big role in her love life. Loren went on her Birthright trip to Israel in 2013, which is a free trip that young adult US citizens with Jewish ancestry are invited to go on. Alexei was the medic on her trip; the pair hit it off and got engaged two years later. Besides her background, Loren is currently an ambassador for the Tourette Association of America. She was picked because of her advocacy for Tourette's Syndrome during her season and in the off-season. In 2017, she was a featured speaker at the Team Tourette Disney World Marathon. According to Loren's LinkedIn, Loren says her ambassador role "isn't just a job, it's a passion." Loren has opened up in the past about doing cognitive behavioral therapy for her Tourette's Syndrome, which she was diagnosed with as a child.
