The Potthast family has been receiving steady criticism for appearing in season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, and the negativity continues to pour in as 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans anticipate Libby and Andrei Castravet announcing their own spin-off show. Though a spin-off has yet to be confirmed, many viewers believe the arrogant couple is angling to become the next Family Chantel and take over as the reigning franchise family on TLC. However, Andrei and Libby were recently named the least favorite 90 Day Fiancé couple by viewers. Fans called for Andrei, Libby and the Potthast family to be canceled after they have aired several seasons of bad behavior.

Andrei and Libby have been slammed by fans for being lazy, arrogant, entitled and rude. Fans are particularly frustrated with TLC for airing Andrei's vulgar language and not beeping out the frequent Russian curse words he utters. Meanwhile, the Potthast family has been criticized for mooching off of patriarch Chuck and his wealth, as well as being rude and culturally ignorant. Libby's brother Charlie is engaged in a nasty feud with Andrei that is interfering with the two men working together, while Chuck was recently called out for sliding into a married cast member's DMs. Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé's Libby has been criticized for supporting Andrei's bad behavior and considered hiring a nanny behind his back. To make matters worse, the Potthast family business has been accused of unethical practices by concerned fans.

One 90 Day Fiancé fan took to Reddit to put the family on blast by sharing a photo of them with the title, "Pure Tampa trash. This whole family is trying desperately for a spin-off. Please don't take the bait TLC!" Viewers have been expressing for weeks that the Potthast family appears too enamored with their reality TV fame. "This is what fake rich looks like," one commenter declared. Many commenters expressed that the family was trying to mimic the appearance of wealth, but they came across as comical for wearing sweaters on a boat in the Florida heat. "They are the definition of grifters," another person added.

The various Potthast family members received plenty of 90 Day Fiancé fan criticism. "Can we talk about how douchey it is for Charlie to wear his stupid sweater like that?...God I hate them," one commenter wrote, while another added that Charlie is "like a villain in a teen 1980s movie." Another viewer wrote, "Charlie's racist-*** wife telling Andrrreii that he's taking a job away from an American. Also when Jen is calling Libby a brat, you can hear one of the girls call him an immigrant. These people really suck. I hate Andrei but they might be worse." Others referenced how many members of the family have shown full-frontal nudity on OnlyFans. "On second thought, if they get their spin-off they won't be on 90 day anymore, which is a win for everybody except the people buying ad time on the spin-off," one commenter deduced.

Many 90 Day Fiancé franchise viewers have grown frustrated with the content being aired by TLC. The franchise has moved away from exploring the K-1 visa process to instead focusing on seasons of repetitive drama. Likewise, most of the genuine and authentic couples have moved on from the franchise, which leaves the messier and more chaotic couples airing their issues on TV. Viewers have called for problematic 90 Day Fiancé cast members including Angela Deem and Big Ed Brown to be removed from the franchise so that shows such as Happily Ever After can instead explore authentic international romances and not personal drama.
