The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is known for airing the journeys of compelling couples as they navigate through their whirlwind love lives with foreigners, but some couples were less entertaining than others. The couples in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise have one thing in common—an American has fallen in love with someone overseas and they’re attempting to make their relationship progress towards marriage. However, there have been a few storylines that viewers feel could have been left out.

Some couples have absurdly wild journeys and appear on multiple spin-offs, making it challenging for fans to forget about them. Fan-favorites Loren and Alexei Brovarnik appeared on 90 Day Fiancé and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. Viewers watched their relationship start in the U.S. and evolve to where they're at now—Loren is pregnant with their third child and the couple have their own spin-off.

Tumultuous 90 Day Fiancé franchise couples like Paul and Karine Staehle may not have been on the show for the last couple of years, but have maintained their spot in headlines on social media and news outlets. From meeting in Brazil to divorcing in America, viewers have followed the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days couple every step of the way. Alas, there are some couples who were less entertaining during their time on screen and managed to slip between the cracks.

Brandon Gibbs & Julia Trubkina

Julia Trubkina Brandon Gibbs 90 Day Fiance

29-year-old Brandon Gibbs and 27-year-old Julia Trubkina, initially appeared to be promising. Between their young ages, living at home with Brandon’s parents, and Julia’s reluctance to work on the farm, the duo seemed like they'd bring the drama. The previews also hinted at turmoil as Brandon’s mother Betty Gibbs called the doctor to set up birth control for Julia, and a pregnancy scare followed quickly after. However, the duo proved to be average and lacked considerably in the entertainment department after they moved off the farm but still didn’t appear to progress. Not to mention, Julia developed a liking for working on the farm which proved even more disappointing.

Larissa Lima & Eric Nichols

Larissa Lima Eric Nichols: TLC: 90 Day Fiancé

When Larissa Lima first appeared on the franchise, it was with her then-fiancé Colt Johnson. This couple was known for their riotous relationship and the infamous staircase incident where Larissa claimed anyone who is “against the queen shall die.” The turmoil wasn’t just with Colt, but his mother, Debbie Johnson, too. The duo separated and 90 Day Fiancé star Larissa was briefly arrested. Viewers thought with a whirlwind relationship like that, they’d be in for a similar ride with Larissa's new beau Eric Nichols. Unfortunately, their time on screen revolved around money and her plastic surgeries, rendering the couple boring compared to the rest of the storylines.

Corey Rathgeber & Evelin Villegas

Corey Evelin Married Instagram Baby In 90 Day Fiance

Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber most recently appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 and viewers were not enthusiastic about their relationship. Evelin had a knack for being extremely disrespectful to Corey, even though he continuously offered his support. Her sisters were also notoriously disliked, as they tricked Corey into eating a soup made with animal penises. Although there were a few plot twists, such as Evelin and Corey already being married, the couple were depicted as dull and tiresome.

Although these cast members had some unique and unexpected twists to their storyline, in shows full of raging and forceful personalities like Jasmine Pineda and Angela Deem, it’s difficult for them to stand out. While they occasionally make headlines as they progress in their relationship, many viewers still opt to invest their time in the more entertaining couples like Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre or Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya. However, there are many other viewers who find the 90 Day Fiancé franchise as a whole to be repetitive and are beginning to lose interest altogether. As season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé begins, viewers are already anticipating adding to the list of boring couples in the future.
