On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Larissa Dos Santos Lima revealed that her ex-husband Colt Johnson blocked her attempts to become a full-fledged citizen of the United States. After their divorce and Larissa's multiple issues with the police, her immigration status is unclear. One thing is certain, however: Larissa seems genuinely worried about being deported.

Larissa first appeared on season six of 90 Day Fiancé, which focused on the start of her relationship with US citizen Colt. Despite their issues, Larissa and Colt managed to move forward with their relationship and Larissa eventually came to the US on the K-1 fiancé visa. She then appeared on season four of Happily Every After, where her relationship with Colt slowly fell apart. Issues between Larissa and Colt's mother, as well as abusive behavior from Larissa led Colt to file for divorce. Larissa moved on quickly and had a new beau shortly after their separation began. However, her divorce from Colt interrupted her plans to become an American citizen. At the start of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Larissa revealed that Colt canceled her Affidavit of Support and even said, "He canceled my green card." If that's the case, how is Larissa still in the US?

When Larissa first came to the US, she used a K-1 visa. By the time she and Colt divorced, Larissa claimed that she had already filed an application for her green card (via Cheat Sheet). In August 2019, Larissa claimed that the process of getting her green card was still moving forward, though most fans doubted her statement. After a divorce and multiple counts of domestic abuse, it seems impossible that Larissa could actually become a US citizen. Then, Larissa claimed that Colt canceled her Affidavit of Support. An Affidavit of Support is an official letter stating that one individual will support a person immigrating to the US. The person who signs the Affidavit agrees to become the immigrant's sponsor, supporting them fully until they become a lawful permanent resident (via USCIS). Since Colt divorced Larissa, it makes sense that he would no longer want to commit to supporting her until she becomes a US citizen.

When Colt canceled this Affidavit, he supposedly interrupted Larissa's green card process. Without someone sponsoring her, Larissa has to find a different way to stay in the US. She could potentially self-petition herself as an abused spouse, but her multiple arrests make it difficult to prove that she is the one who was abused. Even though it seems unlikely that Larissa will get a green card, the star also claimed in late March that she finally obtained her work permit, which might get her green card application back on track (via InTouchWeekly). With a work permit, Larissa can make her own money instead of relying on Colt.

In short, Larissa's immigration status is unclear. She continues to make claims about her green card process, but she isn't the most reliable or trustworthy source. At the moment, it seems that Larissa is allowed to stay in the country while she orchestrates a new petition for a green card. Either way, she seems genuinely worried about being deported in the new season. It looks like we'll just have to wait and see what happens to this Brazil native as the season progresses.
