Former 90 Day Fiancé star David Murphey has been attracting a lot of attention from followers on Instagram after his breakup with Lana. David, who featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4, was utterly smitten by Ukrainian beauty Lana who he had met seven years ago. David spent upwards of $100,000 on his online relationship with Lana, who’d never spoken to him over video call or phone.
Lana has been suspected of being a scammer, potentially running a mail order bride catfish scam to steal David's money and get a visa. This was supplemented by Lana finding various reasons to not meet David and even claiming she couldn’t text him on the iPhone he gifted her due to her long nails. In January this year, Lana did a shocking AMA on her Instagram page where she confessed her relationship with David was 90% scripted. She added that she was still in contact with David and that the engagement was just for the show. While David declared they hadn’t broken up, he did mention he and Lana weren’t together during 90 Day Bares All.
Perhaps this was the sign David’s fans were looking for to start flirting with him on Instagram. David’s last post was in May, but the replies on it are still fresh, with his followers commenting rows of heart emojis and writing things such as, “you look amazing, as always” and “oh my god how handsome.” The Las Vegas resident also appeared to have broken his arm after revealing his father, who suffered from Alzheimer's, had passed away. David wondered if he too had Alziemer’s since sometimes he faces memory loss as well. Many fans also reached out with prayers for him to feel better soon.
However, what seems to have really caught the attention of David’s followers is his dashing makeover which makes him look very different from how he did on 90 Day Fiancé. Gone are the floppy hair and the three-sizes-too-big shirts, as David now sports a new stylish beard and clothes that compliment his slimmer frame. David says he lost “only 8 pounds,” but his followers could surely see the difference in him. Fans couldn’t stop themselves from complimenting David for his beard and trucker mustache, with a few admitting they didn’t recognize him at all.
Due to David revealing the large sum he’d spent on Lana and that he has recently retired from his well-paying job as an SR Systems Programmer, his followers could be of the opinion that he is very rich. The computer programmer is speculated to have earned $100,000 annually, and he showed interest in buying a $300,000 RV on 90 Day Fiancé. Photos of David with an expensive Lamborghini have surfaced online as well. Considering all of this, David lives a comfortable lifestyle and has no qualms about spending lavishly on the women he loves. With Lana now possibly out of the picture, perhaps David will turn his attention to his many followers who hopefully won’t ghost him as his Slavic lover did.
