Kimberly Menzies and Usman “Sojaboy” Umar previously presented an unconvincing romance to 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans, although the age-gapped couple has surprisingly stayed together and is set to continue airing their unconventional romance. U.S.-based mother Kim traveled to visit her online love, Usman, on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days to see if he would date her. A lot has happened in the time between filming for both Kim and Usman, which has left many 90 Day Fiancé fans surprised.

Usman first appeared on Before the 90 Days with his now ex-wife Lisa Hamme. He then returned to date yet another older American woman when he revealed his online flirtation with Kim. Even though Kim was smitten with the Nigerian singer, Usman only referred to her as his “potential girlfriend.” He then forced Kim to prove herself to him. However, few viewers felt bad for Kim after she tried to pressure Usman into being intimate with her. While the couple appeared destined for disaster, especially after Usman was revealed to have been talking with his ex-girlfriend Zara, the duo will be appearing on the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airing in late August.

Somehow, Kim and Usman have defied the odds since filming Before the 90 Days, as the duo is still very much together in 2022. However, they appear to just be dating as opposed to their fellow Happily Ever After couples who are married or at least engaged. Usman and Kim have maintained a long-distance relationship, while it also appears that Usman has mended his fractured relationship with Kim’s son Jamal, whom he previously clashed with after making Kim cry during the "Tell-All" episode. Kim and Jamal have even been keeping busy in the franchise as the mother and son duo appeared on Pillow Talk to film their reactions to current 90 Day Fiancé content.

Kim dealt with some hardships, including losing her mother and facing criticism from angry Before the 90 Days viewers. However, she appears to be in a good place and has thriving relationships with both her son and Usman. Meanwhile, Usman has been keeping up with his booming music career, as the Nigerian singer has been releasing and recording new music. Usman also appears to be doing well in his long-distance relationship, which surprisingly has not been plagued by more infidelity rumors. However, many 90 Day Fiancé fans remain skeptical that Usman is actually into Kim and isn’t just using her affections toward him to his advantage.

While Usman and Kim have shocked many 90 Day Fiancé franchise fans by staying together, viewers aren't very happy about the couple appearing on Happily Ever After. The franchise spin-off show is intended for 90 Day Fiancé couples, who are married, to show how their relationships have progressed after tying the knot. Few 90 Day Fiancé fans have interest in seeing Kim and Usman's relationship after the chaos they witnessed on Before the 90 Days.
