Jamal Menzies from 90 Day Fiancé told curious fans if he is gay during an Instagram Live with his mom Kim Menzies. Kim, a 52-year-old from San Diego, fell for 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Usman Umar, aka Sojaboy, and wanted to become his girlfriend. The 34-year-old, who was fresh out of a divorce from his American ex-wife Lisa Hamme, took time to say yes. In a recent 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7 episode, he got engaged to Kim. Her having a son almost his age didn’t bother Usman, and neither did Jamal’s opinion of him.
Jamal not being okay with Usman dating, let alone getting married to, his mom is something that attracts fans to him along with his personality. Fans have been fawning over Jamal ever since he was introduced by Kim on Before The 90 Days. But some fans also wanted to know Jamal’s sexual orientation, apart from asking TLC to cast him on 90 Day: The Single Life. Jamal and his mom were live on Instagram recently after an emotional episode aired that dealt with the death of Kim’s mom Sally. Kim interacted with fans, and so did Jamal, who was surprised by someone asking him for his “gender preference.” Jamal seemed confused about whether the fan was asking him if he was “male or female.” Kim told Jamal that the fan was asking him if he's gay. Jamal then confirmed that he is “straight” and added, “not that there’s anything wrong with it."

Kim said that they get “that a lot” and continued, “No, Jamal is straight.” 90 Day Fiancé cast member Kim confessed it’s a question they get all the time, and people keep asking her about her son. Jamal tried to tell his mom that it could just be that people want to start a conversation with her by asking her that question. Moreover, Jamal has now made an Instagram post about how toxic masculinity stems from insecurity. “As a straight man, I don’t give a f*** about gender roles. It’s YOUR life, do whatever tf you want,” Jamal declared in his Instagram caption.
It seems the question of whether Jamal is gay or not has been asked a lot since the 90 Day: The Single Life season 3 Tell-All Part 1 aired on TLC. The Tell-All featured Veronica Rodriguez, a fan-favorite from Pillow Talk, where she appears with her ex and best friend Tim Malcolm. The 37-year-old single mother and 90 Day Fiancé star Veronica tried her luck at dating on the show but was unsuccessful as the man she was seeing lied about how close he was to his ex and waited to tell Veronica about him moving to a different state until they had been in bed.
Veronica was single during the finale but, at the Single Life Tell-All, revealed that there is someone special in her life. The glimpses of Veronica’s boyfriend showed his hands, and 90 Day Fiancé fans knew they looked familiar from somewhere. The hands seem to belong to Jamal because of the rings and bracelets that were seen in the close-up shots. Fans will get a final answer in the 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All Part 2, but Jamal confirming his sexual orientation also comes as a big clue about him possibly being the man whom Veronica is in love with.
