New cast member Kim Menzies was recently introduced on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, and she spoke highly about her son Jamal during the premiere episode. Viewers were curious to know more about Kim’s “amazing” son who seems to be supportive of his mother’s journey to find love. It’s unknown how much Jamal will be featured in his mom’s storyline on the show, but she surely appreciates having him on her side along the way.
As part of the Before The 90 Days season 5 cast, Kim popped up as the partner to a familiar face in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise - Usman Umar, a.k.a. rapper Sojaboy. After Usman’s divorce from Lisa Hamme, he connected with Kim online. It didn’t take long before Kim became smitten with him and his music. Kim plans to travel to Tanzania, where Usman is filming a music video, to meet him for the first time. She is so in love with her musician boyfriend that she claims she’d even be willing to let Usman have another wife just so he can have children. Kim’s friends and mom are understandably skeptical, but Kim won’t be deterred.
In the premiere, Kim had a quick FaceTime with her son Jamal, and she spoke about how much he means to her. Kim described him as her “biggest accomplishment” and “the best thing that came out of [her] marriage to [her] ex-husband.” Though she didn’t go into details, Kim appears to view Usman as a big step up from her ex. It seems there’s nothing Kim wouldn’t do for her son, and it’s clear how proud of him she is. He wasn’t featured much, but he didn’t have anything negative to say about his mother’s relationship with Usman.
Given that Jamal is 25 years old, it’s surprising that he doesn’t have a very big social media presence. The rugby fan and nature lover graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020 with a degree in Political Science. Jamal is clearly a hard worker, and while he was in school he was employed by a pharmacy company, gaining four promotions within six years. Now, Jamal works as House Counsel for an insurance company and lives in New York City. He may live far from his mother, but Jamal promoted the new season of Before the 90 Days on his Facebook page, teasing “big things coming for the fam!”
There’s a long journey ahead of Kim on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, though it’s unclear how much Jamal will be a part of it. Since he lives in New York and Kim is traveling to Tanzania, he probably won’t be featured much, though his support will surely be appreciated by his mother. Even if Kim’s love for Usman fizzles out, the franchise newbie still has the love of her son.
