Known as one of “the best of the best” couples of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, Kalani Faagata, and Asuelu Pulaa went through tough times during 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season five. When it wasn’t Asuelu’s football obsession bothering Kalani, it was his mother’s unruly behavior and constant demands for money. After their season ended, did Kalani and Asuelu’s problems end as well?

Kalani, a 32-year-old from Orange County, California, was on a vacation in Samoa when she first saw Asuelu shirtless at a resort, and immediately thought “this could work.” As activities director Asuelu, 25, “semi-stalked” Kalani around the resort, she made up her mind to visit Samoa again. During that trip, she lost her virginity to her future husband. As Kalani Fagaata gave birth to their son Oliver, her family remained opposed to Asuelu and her 90 Day Fiancé relationship. Nonetheless, the Samoan man moved to America. The TLC pair tied the knot in 2018, and had another baby they named Kennedy. However, their marital and money problems never seemed to end. 90 Day Fiancé fans saw the stress between Kalani and Asuelu’s mom (Lesina) and sister (Tammy) carry over into the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell All. Tammy threatened Kalani, while Asuelu was seen leaving the reunion midway as co-stars looked on. Those watching believed that this was the end of Kalani and Asuelu’s 90 Day Fiancé relationship, but things have thankfully taken a positive turn.

The 90 Day Fiancé family saw better days right after the Tell All aired, as Asuelu announced that he’d found a job that he liked. While he used to sell yogurt samples (which used to give him explosive diarrhea), Asuelu now has been hired as a dancer by a Polynesian entertainment company. As well, the TLC star has been putting his Samoan dance skills (which he famously used to woo Kalani at the airport) to use on TikTok. The father-of-two creates and uploads entertaining videos on TikTok, which sometimes feature Kalani. This is a strong signal that all is well in their post-90 Day Fiancé lives. See Asuelu below:

Sister-in-law Kolini also shows up in Asuelu’s dance videos, although she and the Samoan man faced major rough patches on the reality show. Meanwhile, Kalani recently made headlines for reaching out to her Kalani Faagata Instagram fans who couldn’t afford Thanksgiving meals. The caring 90 Day Fiancé star also spoke about having faced racism since childhood. While Kalani wrote about having been treated differently all her life due to her Polynesian looks and accused a Walmart employee of preferential treatment, fans applauded her transparency about the sensitive subject. However, the pair made appearances on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Strikes Back, and one of those appearances did show Kalani confessing that they were having issues. In October, Kalani updated fans with a post captioned “trying,” (as seen above) and she and Asuelu will be returning to another 90 Day Fiancé spin-off on Discovery Plus, 90 Day Diaries. While Kalani once contemplated divorce, the new series might focus on her and Asuelu trying to tackle their issues via marriage counseling. If the 90 Day Fiancé couple’s social media is a sign to be taken seriously, one can assume that Kalani is still very much the pineapple” of Asuelu’s life.
