Julia Trubkina was a season 8 90 Day Fiancé fan-favorite cast member, but the dancer has seen herself turn into a villain by the time 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 aired. Few cast members have seen fans turn on them so quickly and do such a dramatic 180 when it comes to their perception from viewers. The Russian dancer was initially considered hysterical, as well as sympathetic for the forced farm work she had to do on her partner Brandon Gibbs' parents' farm. However, Julia has quickly become a villain among viewers in a short time.

Things soured during the season 8 Tell-All when Julia slammed plastic surgery and called young people who had cosmetic work "lazy." She also revealed that she chose to do farm work to help Brandon with his chores, which made many viewers feel deceived by her forced farm labor plotline. Furthermore, Julia continued to act bratty and immature during the start of Happily Ever After. Recently, Julia called women "foxy" and "sneaky" and banned her husband from having female friends. Though viewers were against Julia's harsh characterization of women, many supported her walking out on Brandon's friend Melanie after the woman questioned Julia's intentions with Brandon.

One viewer posted a picture of Julia from the Tell-All to Reddit with the title, "DAE think Julia had one of the biggest falls from grace on this show?" The post opened up the discussion about Julia's turn from beloved new cast member to immature villain. Many commenters believed it was the editing that changed Julia's characterization. "She lost the benefit of tlc editing in her favor. It happens to every cast member who mysteriously changes. Asuelu becomes an unemployed toddler.... despite having three jobs. julia becomes mean and judgemental despite being an angelic sinless princess last season due to tlc just not bothering to remove her bs this time," one top comment reads. "I think that is has ALOT to do with how they treat the crew. Darcey gets a consistent good edit and she can be a really mean drunk," another commenter wrote back.

While many believe editing contributes to how Julia is perceived, others think she also has some responsibility. "Anyone who yells abt how normal they are, aren’t normal," one person wrote, referring to Julia's words to Brandon when she stormed out on Melanie. However, many viewers sympathized with Julia in that particular situation due to Melanie's rudeness. Overall, Julia is characterized as immature by viewers. "She's a woman child. Niave, wilfully stupid, threw a tantrum after not winning that Maxim competition, dismissive of others if there issues's not acceptable/relatable to her, doubles down on being wrong instead of being open to understanding," one commenter wrote before listing more examples about how the 27-year-old acts younger than she is.

Julia isn't alone with being a disliked Happily Ever After cast member. Viewers have complained about most of the season 6 cast since they feature the same couples who bring stale drama and repetitive storylines. The Potthast family has been most called out for airing boring drama, with some franchise fans fearing that the family is hoping to get their own spin-off show. Viewers have also questioned if some scenes on the show are scripted, such as the drama between the Potthast family and Andrei Castravet and even Julia's show-down with Melanie. Overall, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 has left much to be desired for longtime fans.
