Julia Trubkina has been open about the concerns surrounding her immigration status and the time has finally come for the 90 Day Fiancé star's hearing. Russian-born Julia appeared in 90 Day Fiancé season 8 with her Virginia native husband Brandon Gibbs. Attention was drawn to the couple immediately as their love story began with a genuine “love at first sight” moment. The TLC series depicts major differences between partners for obvious reasons, but in addition to their differing cultures, Julia and Brandon could almost be considered opposites. It was exciting for the pair to appear in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 to see how things ended up panning out for those reasons.

In a recent Instagram Story from 90 Day Fiancé's Julia Trubkina, she revealed that her immigration hearing has been scheduled. Julia shared a selfie with a pondering and possibly annoyed expression, informing her fans that her hearing has been scheduled for the date of their wedding anniversary, April 26. She further added that she is a first-timer when it comes to court appearances.

90 Day Fiancé's Julia Trubkina Has Court Date Set For Immigration Hearing

This comes as a relief as Julia has been drawing confusion with her open concern regarding her Green Card status. With a couple of months still until the initial hearing, there likely won’t be many more details on her status or next steps in the near future.

Prior to her hearing announcement, Julia recently provided an update on what has been going on. Julia disclosed that her visa had actually expired in December 2022, which was alarming news. Julia submitted an application for a 10-year-long Green Card, which is often a lengthy process and can be difficult to obtain. The fact that her court date is set, however, provides some long-awaited relief and clarity. Julia and Brandon already being married helps, but the U.S. isn’t necessarily known for its efficient and welcoming immigration policies.

Julia captured attention for several reasons, but one to note specifically was her pronounced commitment to Brandon. She has exerted more than the usual efforts required of a marriage since the beginning of their relationship. She left the city life she loved in Russia and adapted to Brandon’s living situation on a farm and his parents' strict expectations. The couple has built a solid foundation and life together regardless of the many sacrifices that she has had to make. Julia and Brandon recently purchased their first home together in November 2022, so that would be another hurdle for the couple if they needed to relocate to Russia.

The possibility that Julia could be deported in the near future is unsettling, to say the least. Julia and Brandon have come so far since 90 Day Fiancé, and it is just another added weight to the many obstacles they face. Hopefully, her next update is that her immigration hearing went well and that she is either going to obtain the Green Card or is able to apply for citizenship. All of this on top of Julia and Brandon working on their new house is a lot for the couple, but there remains hope for Julia to be granted a secure status.
