Season eight 90 Day Fiancé stars Julia Trubkina and Brandon Gibbs have joined the cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, but Julia is already facing criticism after the first episode of the new season. After facing controversy and criticism recently, the Russian dancer did little to improve her waning popularity in the season six premiere on April 25. Julia spent the episode complaining about life on Brandon’s parents’ farm and insisting her new husband get them an apartment in Las Vegas after they visited Sin City. While viewers have cooled off to Julia, they were surprised to see a style choice that many disliked.
Julia was a fan-favorite new cast member prior to the season eight Tell-All. Julia was on her worst behavior during the reunion, as she argued with her franchise friend Yara Zaya over plastic surgery. The Russian beauty slammed plastic surgery and called people lazy as she insisted they should just work out. She also admitted to willingly taking on Brandon’s farm work and choosing to stay on the farm because she didn’t like the apartments Brandon could afford. These revelations shocked fans, who had spent the season sympathizing with the city girl. Viewers were therefore not amused to see Julia voice her issues about farm life on the spin-off show.
Season six of Happily Ever After saw the newlyweds hitting up Las Vegas for a trip that led to Julia complaining about wanting to move. The 27-year-old also puzzled viewers with a bold glasses choice. One viewer reposted an image of her in the r/90dayfiance sub-Reddit with the caption “I don't know who needs to hear this today, but this is not a good look. Put down the glasses and just walk away.” Many commenters agreed that Julia’s bizarre accessory choice was not her best pick. “Those look like the safety shield glasses I’m required to wear with my PPE at work,” one commenter wrote. Others were baffled by the brunette beauty’s comical appearance.
“I'm not judging but if she just went to the gym she wouldn't need glasses,” one commenter wrote. Many viewers have been calling back Julia’s comment about people needing to join a gym rather than get surgeries. “She looks like she has a dead hooker in her trunk,” another person wrote. “I thought she looked JUST LIKE Denis Rader with those glasses. So who knows- she might!” another commenter wrote back. “The glasses make her look like any dude that was on forensic files for murder,” a third person voiced. Other compared her to a 70s serial killer and season eight co-star Zied Hakimi. “People who don't need to wear glasses need to stop wearing glasses,” another commenter shared.
While Julia and Brandon received a lukewarm reception at best for joining the spin-off show, Reddit users have been voicing excitement over seeing Angela Deem confront them during the season Tell-All. Outspoken Angela has been open about her weight loss procedures and may have some choice words for the Russian dancer about her plastic surgery comments. Meanwhile, viewers are looking forward to seeing one couple who was absent from the premiere. Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren have become fan-favorites and many viewers are looking forward to seeing more of their infant daughter Mylah on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
