Gwen's response differs from many of the over-protective and intrusive franchise mothers. While fellow season eight couple Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina faced intense backlash from Brandon's mother, Betty, because they wanted to marry on "Mother's Day weekend," Gwen was happy to hand Jovi over to his wife.
