Back when Jovi Dufren was on 90 Day Fiancé his mother Gwen gave him a birthday present that he didn’t appreciate at the time, but now Jovi is seeing that even though she can be a little pushy with tips on how to raise his daughter, she knows what she’s talking about. There are many things that changed for Jovi once his daughter Mylah was born, and the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star is beginning to see how different his life is now.
Jovi never anticipated becoming a father so soon, but it wasn’t long after his fiancé, Yara, came to the United States that she became pregnant, and the couple had to quickly prepare for a baby. Unfortunately for Yara, Jovi had to leave for several months for his work, and when he came back, he had a lot of catching up to do. Fans were skeptical that 90 Day Fiancé's Jovi would change with fatherhood and embrace his new responsibilities, and at first, they were right to be worried.
Gwen stepped in to help Yara while she was pregnant, and upon Jovi’s return, she tried to help her son prepare for fatherhood too. It was Jovi’s birthday when he got back to New Orleans, and though he wanted to celebrate like he used to, things were different this time. Gwen’s birthday present to Jovi was a BabyBjörn-style carrier, and Jovi wasn’t pleased. He wasn’t expecting to get a gift that was more for his new daughter than him, but now he’s changed his tune. In a recent Instagram Story, Jovi shared a selfie of himself with Mylah in the carrier his mom gave him for his birthday. The photo is captioned, “Best gift ever. Sorry for complaining @gweneymard.”
It seems that Jovi has now realized just how useful his mom’s gift was. It’s great that he’s finally taking her advice because many 90 Day Fiancé fans think Gwen is the best parent on the show. Though she can sometimes be a little pushy, Gwen has far more experience in raising a child, and Jovi and Yara would be smart to learn from her.
Jovi is finally embracing his new role as a father on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, though Yara has concerns about him being gone so long for work. Many fans have questioned Jovi and Yara’s parenting skills, but they do seem like they’re trying their best. Ultimately, baby Mylah has two loving parents and an excellent support system, with Gwen close by whenever help is needed. Jovi is starting to see that his mom knows what she’s talking about, and that’s a good thing for the whole 90 Day Fiancé family.
