Fans of 90 Day Fiancé seem to be the only ones aware of all Jihoon Lee's red flags while he was dating Deavan Clegg. Meanwhile, the mother of two was surprisingly oblivious to her fiancé's litany of issues.

In the end, Jihoon's sketchy behavior, as well as allegations that he and his parents abused Deavan's daughter Drascilla, caught up with the couple and have contributed to a very public split. While the couple's story is still playing out on the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Wayboth Deavan and Jihoon have made it clear they're no longer together. Since mid-September, Deavan has been flaunting her new relationship with Topher Park.

One of the first red flags Deavan should have paid attention to was the inability to communicate with Jihoon. She doesn't speak Korean, and Jihoon's English is sparse. Adding to the couple's issues was Jihoon's lack of money. Yet another sign this relationship was doomed was the reaction Jihoon's parents had to Deavan. They didn't like her tattoos, and felt her personality was a poor fit for their son and the family. They were ashamed their son impregnated Deavan out of wedlock. They also objected to Deavan's parenting style and raised concerns that her daughter Drascilla was a bit unruly. That, coupled with the language barrier, contributed to an icy first impression between Deavan and her future in-laws. Deavan noted on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, “In Korean culture, it is super important for the parents to give their blessing. If I’m not up to Jihoon’s parents’ standards and they think I’m not good enough for their son, we can’t get married.”

Deavan Jihoon Drascilla Taeyang 90 Day Fiancé

Despite concerns from Jihoon's parents, Deavan and Jihoon moved forward with their relationship. When Deavan arrived in South Korea the first time, she quickly realized her fiancé's lifestyle wasn't conducive to raising a family. He lived at home with his mom and dad in what can only be described as modest conditions. Deavan was shocked to see the lack of amenities to which she had grown accustomed to in the US, particularly with baby Taeyang now in the picture. Jihoon began hinting on the show that there was something he had been dreading to tell Deavan. After weeks of teasing, he revealed to her that he had a criminal past in South Korea. Jihoon had been arrested for selling lost and stolen mobile phones. Korean authorities fined him $50,000, but he owed twice as much. When Deavan pressed him about it, he admitted he had taken out a loan to pay the fine, but the interest actually led to the amount being double what it was before. Jihoon then sheepishly admitted, "If I told you, you would not marry me."

Eventually, Deavan began to piece together each of these red flags. Before she knew it, she had a flowing tapestry of reasons to get out of the relationship with Jihoon. His constant empty promises about providing for their family began to sicken Deavan. By the time her mother, Elicia, traveled to South Korea to visit, the writing was on the wall that this relationship had no future. Deavan's mom ripped Jihoon a new one and encouraged her daughter to move on. It didn't take long before Deavan was insulting Jihoon's manhood and hightailing it back on a plane to the United States. That should have indicated to him that she might be too immature to weather the ups and downs of a committed union. The estranged married couple is handling the breakup in vastly different ways. Jihoon has posted on Instagram that he's working on himself and using Deavan's dissatisfaction with him to grow and become a better man. Meanwhile, Deavan rebounded with Park, who seems to be quite close with both Taeyang and Drascilla. If there are any red flags in their future relationships, they had better pay closer attention to them than they did in this marriage.
