The August 10 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way saw Jihoon Lee first impressing his wife Deavan Clegg and her mom Elicia with the new apartment in Seoul. But as the episode saw its end, it reverted to the Jihoon blame game as Elicia held the 90 Day Fiancé star responsible for Drascilla’s disappearance.

This season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has a dark cloud constantly hanging over Deavan and Jihoon’s head. South Korea’s sunny weather has done nothing to brighten up their relationship ever since Deavan set the wrong foot into the country. Deavan told Jihoon she would go back to the USA if he didn’t mend his ways, while mother Elicia secretly kept her fingers crossed that her daughter would return home. Jihoon played dutiful husband for the first time and handed over $3000 to his American wife before agreeing to make a joint bank account. 90 Day Fiancé’s latest episode saw the couple and their children, Taeyang and Drascilla (Deavan’s daughter from a previous relationship), move into a large space in Ilsan that everyone liked. But a huge catastrophe at the end of the episode seems to have sabotaged Jihoon’s happiness yet again. Drascilla ran off as her step-father tried to catch her, making Elicia hate him even more.

Jihoon, his parents, Deavan, and her mother sat down in a park below their apartment with the kids in tow. Things were going well for the troubled 90 Day Fiancé couple as Jihoon apologized for the 100th time and agreed to look after his family “independently.” But right after he uttered the words, “all the responsibility is on me now,” TLC went ahead with a cliffhanger, showing Drascilla running off into the darkness. A few seconds of footage saw Jihoon carrying her and her asking him to let her down. But as soon as he did, Drascialla stormed off, leaving the 90 Day Fiancé crew shocked and her family running after her. The preview for the next episode shows Elicia saying, “I don’t even want to look at Jihoon right now. All I feel is rage,” while Jihoon bawls his eyes out in the park with Deavan next to him.

Deavan Jihoon Family: TLC 90 Day Fiance

90 Day Fiancé fans aren't mincing words in calling both TLC and Elicia out over the incident. Several viewers pointed out how insensitive it was to have Drascilla’s disappearance as a cliff-hanger. A Reddit user wrote how the 90 Day Fiancé ending was cruel for anyone who “has been in an accident or experienced their child being hit in an accident.” But on the other hand, many fans dismissed the moment as just another reality TV probe. Rather than blaming Jihoon for the incident, fans have been quick to blame Deavan and her mother for their “lack of discipline.” Recalling previous incidents from the show, another Redditor wrote, “My sympathy for Deavan is really slipping. They need to stop blaming Jihoon for everything.” Thankfully, Drascilla seems to be happy and safe back home in America today. But it is concerning that the plot seemed to play it out like it was Jihoon’s fault simply because he was the last adult she was seen with.

Jihoon runs right after Drascilla the moment she tries to flee and thankfully she might not have gone too far. There’s also the 90 Day Fiancé crew present to help the family find her. But what’s really concerning is how Jihoon is always at the receiving end of Deavan's anger whenever anything ever goes south in the couple’s life.  Hopefully the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way doesn’t have Jihoon repeatedly saying “I’m sorry” out of habit.
