It’s probably been months since 90 Day Fiancé’s Jihoon Lee last saw his son Taeyang. And Deavan’s ex-husband is leaving no stone unturned to convey his loss. Each time Jihoon talks about the child on his Instagram, sympathy-filled comments from TLC viewers the world over keep coming in. Jihoon, who recently shared a heartbreaking photo of a younger Taeyang in Korea moved 90 Day Fiancé fans to tears with his tale of loss.
Jihoon and Deavan’s adorable love story that started on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 took no time to take a disastrous turn. Jihoon, 31, had met the American girl Deavan, 23, on a dating app after learning about it in a movie. The couple started talking and with three months, Jihoon found himself in Utah despite the language barrier. Deavan and Jihoon conceived Taeyang Scuti Lee on their first night together, and after flying back to Korea, he proposed marriage to the American model. While Deavan hardly even knew Jihoon, she dismissed his sketchy past and still married him, but that’s when things started falling apart. Jihoon’s financial woes turned into Deavan’s number one worry, and after she’d settled down for good in Korea, fans read about her alleged child abuse accusations against her husband. The 90 Day Fiancé star claimed Jihoon had apparently hurt her children, Drascilla and Taeyang, prompting her to fly back to the States and apply for divorce. Meanwhile, TLC fans saw Jihoon complaining about being separated from his only child, with every story and post she shared on social media.
The 90 Day Fiancé star, who was last seen sharing Instagram pictures of the gifts he sends Taeyang via a friend in America, posted another update about the child. While Deavan has claimed that Jihoon’s friend is actually a fan who’s put their lives in danger by having access to her residential address, there’s little stopping Jihoon from expressing how much he misses his son. His latest post shows a much littler Taeyang with Jihoon’s mother Jung at a park, which he’s captioned, “when can I see you again?” Jihoon’s post got sympathetic comments like, “That’s freaken sad. A son needs his real dad” and “Heartbreaking. I hope you get to see your little baby.”
Still, some 90 Day Fiancé fans feel that Jihoon should be putting in more effort than just sharing pictures on IG. “A dad would be on a phone and booking a ticket. Figure it out. Instagram isn’t going to give you an answer,” wrote a TLC viewer, while a different comment read, “It is not Deavan’s responsibility to get her to Korea to see his father,” and another one says, “stop waving your dirty laundry all over Instagram.. if you want to see your kid.. you have to make it happen.” The 90 Day Fiancé fan replied to his followers in the comments by adding, “I humbly accept both criticism and support. But baseless criticism will make you bald with my scissorhand.” Jihoon also asked his fans to “watch quietly” and that he’s been “saving money and growing.”
Jihoon, who was often called out by the show’s viewers for being unemployed has taken up a food delivery gig and has also started a YouTube channel. The 90 Day Fiancé celeb recently dressed up as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween, which is a character one of Deavan’s tattoos is based on. Whether he did it as he missed his 90 Day Fiancé partner or to take a dig at Deavan is not known, but here’s hoping the two TLC fan-favorites reach middle-ground over their very public feud soon.
