Jibri Bell from 90 Day Fiancé season 9 is getting backlash for posting a video of Miona Bell without her usual makeup and filters on Instagram. The 28-year-old Jibri hails from Rapid City and juggled multiple jobs before becoming the lead singer of his Black Serbs band. Miona, 23, a professional makeup artist caught his fancy when Jibri was touring in her country, Serbia. Shortly after, Miona and Jibri were engaged and she moved into his parents’ South Dakota home against her wishes. Though many viewers liked the way Miona came off on camera during season 9, her problematic Instagram posts had fans accusing her of blackfishing.

Miona didn’t acknowledge the claims apart from talking about how a DNA test had proved she has Mexican and Middle Eastern genes. Over time, fans did cut Miona some slack, because she came across as one of the most sensible cast members on 90 Day Fiancé season 9, even though she and Jibri were continually called clout chasers. Impressed by her impeccable makeup and a hairstyle with not even one hair out of place, fans wasted no time in buying Miona’s ponytails, which she now sells under her own brand. Miona’s Miona Beauty products are selling like hot cakes, despite there being fans who don’t like her “overdone” Instagram-girl look.

Meanwhile, Jibri, who’s become the villain of the season after his stunts during the 90 Day Fiancé Tell All, wanted to perhaps tell his wife that with or without makeup, she’s beautiful either way. Jibri shared a video of Miona scrolling through her phone while wearing her natural hair in a bun and an orange oversized t-shirt. “@mionabell I love that double chin and that cellulite,” Jibri added as his caption with a kiss and a fire emoji for his soulmate. But instead of coming across as romantic, Jibri’s gesture for Miona offended fans. On a thread by Reddit user u/StandUpTwice, many 90 Day Fiancé fans asked Jibri what is wrong with him. They agreed that while body positivity is always appreciated, Miona’s video didn’t show her having any hint of a double chin or cellulite.

This is hardcore devaluing behavior," said Dr_Bitchcraft8. Fans proceeded to call Jibri a “clown” multiple times. “I didn't even notice the things he said until I read it,” added ripapips. TLC viewers did not appreciate Jibri shaming Miona and trying to embarrass her by dragging her for “flaws” that she doesn’t even possess. Fans thought Miona looked better without her glam makeup, and her real straight hair was perfect. Miona using filters on her photos or making herself look like someone she’s not on social media could possibly be a sign of her being insecure about her looks.

And 90 Day Fiancé star Jibri, with his positivity, could have actually made her feel worse. Miona herself didn’t repost Jibri’s story on her Instagram, which suggests she may have not appreciated what he did. But fans do think the gesture was less intended to impress Miona and more to gain clout by means of showing how honest and expressive he is. Jibri’s saint-like stance on Instagram was anyway exposed when he lashed out at castmate Ariela Weinberg on 90 Day Fiancé for no reason and wished for her relationship with Biniyam Shibre to fail. Many are happy that they won’t have to see Jibri on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? next season. But Jibri is a cast member who cannot be ignored and will keep himself relevant with everything that he does on the internet.
