When 90 Day Fiancé star Jibri Bell's mother commented on the way her son's partner, Miona, dressed, some fans agreed with her views, but others took issue with them. South Dakota local Jibri met his partner Miona when his band, the Black Serbs, was performing in her home country of Serbia. He spotted her in the crowd, and they hit it off. The pair got engaged in Thailand in 2019. Although makeup artist Miona was hoping to live in Los Angeles, Jibri explained to the cameras that she would be coming to live with him, his mother, and his stepfather, in South Dakota. He said this was because he and Miona had spent a lot of money meeting up around the world, and he wanted them to save money by living with his parents.
In the show, Jibri's mother stated a few of her concerns about Miona living in her house. She said she had only seen Jibri's new love interest on FaceTime with Jibri, but that Miona once called her son stupid. Jibri's mother expressed that she hoped that wouldn't happen under her roof. Having seen Miona's presence on social media, Jibri's mother also said she isn't comfortable with how Miona dresses on Instagram. She explained that once Miona lives in her house, she expects her to dress in a way that made everyone in the home comfortable. Jibri said he was surprised his mom was trying to "control" what Miona wore, since his mother thinks of herself as a "feminist." To the cameras, he stated he thought his mom was testing his partner.
Many fans on Reddit agreed with Jibri's mother's comments on Miona's way of dressing. Reddit user EmotionalMycologist9 expressed that they thought it was reasonable for Jibri's mom to want Miona to dress "appropriately" while living under her roof. Other users agreed with this, adding that when someone is living in someone else's house, they need to abide by their rules, no matter what they are. The user alleged that Miona likely does not wear revealing outfits on FaceTime, and therefore they also agreed that Jibri's mother was trying to start drama. They added that some of the photos on the Serbian beauty's Instagram show her in a swimsuit, saying that Jibri's parents couldn't possibly think that Miona would wear a swimsuit around the house.
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans also stated that they thought the entire plotline about Miona's clothing was fabricated. After all, rumors are circulating that the couple is already married. There are also several clues that the couple is living in Los Angeles after all, and not in South Dakota with Jibri's parents. However, no one but Jibri has even met Miona in person yet, and viewers have only seen her briefly on Jibri's phone screen. Therefore, it is hard to say what will happen with this couple. The previews for 90 Day Fiancé season 9 hint at drama between Jibri's parents and Miona. Fabricated or not, it is sure to be an interesting season.
