It’s not new for popular 90 Day Fiancé stars to have made their reality TV debuts before appearing on the show. Pillow Talk favorites Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Richards started off with Double Divas, while Angela Deem was a popular face from Trisha and Maury. And looks like 90 Day Fiancé’s Jenny Slatten wanted to follow in their footsteps – eight years ago! The Palm Springs native had dreams of auditioning for a controversial MTV show, with none other than boyfriend Sumit Singh.

When Sumit, 32, and Jenny, 62, were both seen with rings on Instagram, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans deduced it was a sign of a happily ever after. But the season finale of their show told a different story. Jenny’s eight-year relationship with Sumit had started when he messaged her on Facebook under the guise of a Chicago-based man Michael Jones. But while Jenny did fall for the 25-year-old Michael, she also found his identity Sumit “cute” and met him within a year in New Delhi. Four months of frolicking followed until Sumit’s parents found out and got him married off, only for him to continue his illicit romance with Jenny. But now with his divorce granted, Sumit is still not married to Jenny after being scared due to his mother’s suicide warnings. The American 90 Day Fiancé star seems to have settled for promise rings instead, but perhaps a new spin-off of a TLC show could also follow since their story isn’t done yet. After all, Jenny wouldn’t really mind since she’s wanted to be a reality star since 2012.

90 Day Fiancé star Jenny is known to be super active on Facebook. In fact, her latest posts have her celebrating Diwali in India with Sumit, but blogger John Yates also found a post on Jenny’s profile that shows an interaction between her and Sumit from eight years ago. The Instagram post displays a screenshot from Jenny’s profile dated November 19, 2012, where she’s liked and shared a video titled “Act 1.” The video seems to be a trailer for MTV’s Catfish as it mentions cast members such as Shawnise, Nev, and Max. In the comments, Jenny asks Sumit, “Baccha [baby] did you watch this?” to which Sumit has replied with a thumbs-up emoji. After which the 90 Day Fiancé celeb writes, “A show for sumit n mee to be on” with a winking emoji.

John’s post has a 90 Day Fiancé fan commenting, “Obviously everyone on the show is on to get money and fame or they wouldn’t sell themselves out for it with fake trashy storylines.” And a second fan notes, “I stopped believing any of their storylines a while ago. Getting old at this point. No pun intended.” But 90 Day Fiancé’s Jenny does have a lot of supporters too, like the one who’s written, “It could just be a tongue in cheek joke since he catfished her,” and “Let's be fair, they all want to be on TV. I’m sure many of them have tried for years.”

While Jenny and Sumit may have not had their big reality TV break in 2012, their storyline in this season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has certainly been the most talked about. And even though they could have been frauding fans, it won’t be a surprise if TLC decides to show more of this 90 Day Fiancé-meets-Bollywood drama in yet another spin-off.
