90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Jenny Slatten has asked for prayers amidst Sumit Singh’s mother Sahna’s jaw-dropping decision on season 3. Sumit met Jenny, a grandmother from Palm Springs, while catfishing on Facebook in 2012. A year later, Jenny knew about the real Sumit and was ready to marry him. However, Sumit got married to a different woman, leaving Jenny in the dark. Now that he’s divorced, Sumit is being held back by his manipulative mom, who’s doing her best to not let American 90 Day Fiancé star Jenny marry him.

The trailer for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 confirmed that Jenny is still in India and also hinted at how she’s been managing to stay there for so long. In the most shocking moment of the teaser, Jenny upturns a chair angrily after telling Sumit she can’t keep renewing her visa every six months to stay with him. Meanwhile, the couple who recently recovered from COVID-19 together, looks happier than ever on social media.

The reason behind Sumit and Jenny’s delayed marriage is still his parents, and the 90 Day Fiancé star’s mother has made sure of it. In an interview with Us Weekly, Sumit said, “We are trying to fix this up” after revealing that after the huge fight in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, his mom Sahna moved into the house he shares with Jenny. Sumit, 33, and Jenny, 63, have not gotten approval to marry yet, especially after his mother emotionally manipulated him with suicide threats. While Jenny’s age still remains the main reason for their disapproval, Sumit’s brother has shown a softer side.

My brother is doing good as he also got married, almost a year [ago],” confessed Sumit about his sibling, who’s grown more responsible and chats with him occassionally. But Sumit’s brother can’t “support” him yet as the parents are yet to “agree with” his and Jenny’s relationship. “Parents is the main thing between – ugh, they need to accept it. They need to accept our relationship,” added Sumit, who wants his parents to be present at his wedding come what may. “I keep trying, I’m still trying,” said Sumit, to which Jenny added, “Keep praying.” According to Sumit, they hope to be Mr. and Mrs. in five years' time.

Jenny had expressed that she and Sumit will continue staying in India as it’s what he wants. Critics have accused Sumit of being after Jenny’s money and a green card, but this 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star is cut from a different cloth. Supporters praise Jenny and Sumit for their “real” love story, even though they do have their lows. Thankfully, Jenny, who’s never been so angry before, has confirmed that it was out of sheer frustration and a one-time thing.
