Many 90 Day Fiancé viewers are accusing Jenny Slatten of misusing and disrespecting ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). Sumit Singh and Jenny have been in a relationship for about a decade, but something has been stopping them from getting married. The couple appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 in 2019 and revealed that Sumit first tried to catfish Jenny. However, he soon told her the truth about his identity. Jenny forgave him and moved to India, but she then learned that Sumit was already married. His in-laws forced him to go back to his wife, and Jenny had to return to the United States.

But Sumit then filed for divorce from his wife, and Jenny came back to India. After Sumit's divorce was finalized with his first wife, 90 Day Fiancé star Jenny was convinced that he would marry her. However, Sumit's mother threatened him, saying that she would commit suicide if he married Jenny. The Palm Springs native has been living in India on a 10-year tourist visa, but she has to leave the country every six months. The couple looked for a permanent solution in the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3.

The couple's immigration attorney told them that Jenny could stay in India for a longer period on a missionary visa if she decides to become a missionary for ISKCON. Even though Jenny is a non-religious person, she is ready to become an advocate of ISKCON. Since she is doing it just to stay in India with Sumit, many 90 Day Fiancé fans think it is disrespectful. A fan on Reddit called out Jenny for using the loophole to try to remain in the country with Sumit. The fan added, "I find this deeply disrespectful to another religion and culture to do this."

Another fan, who claimed to be from India, accused Jenny on Instagram, "Here we take ISKCON and its followings seriously and you joining it just to extend your Visa in India is wrong on so many levels." Someone else chimed in, "She lives with a liar. It's become 'normal' to her." Jenny has no interest in learning about Lord Krishna, Hindu religion or its scriptures, so it does sound bad when she wants to become an ISKCON missionary as a way to be with Sumit.

Jenny's immigration attorney suggested another way to remain in India permanently, which is to give up her American citizenship and become an Indian citizen. But Jenny completely refused to go down that route. Many fans argued that if Jenny really wants to be with Sumit and loves him enough, she can give up her citizenship and the benefits instead of faking it as a religious person. Still, some 90 Day Fiancé fans are supporting Jenny and her choices to be with the love of her life.
