After giving 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewers a grand tour of her dirty kitchen, Jenny Slatten disgusted them (and Sumit Singh’s mother) with her grossest habit yet. May-December couple Jenny and Sumit have been living together for a while in India, and often document their cooking chronicles on Instagram. However, fans never noticed how messy their kitchen was until Sadhna Singh entered the picture. Apart from yielding grime, dust, and even mosquitoes, the kitchen exposed Jenny's shabby lifestyle in the country. In episode 9 of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, Jenny did something that truly repulsed TLC viewers.
As someone who’s highly influenced by his mother, Sumit saw Sadhna becoming their housemate as a golden opportunity. While Sumit expected the inevitable clashes between Jenny and Sadhna, pleasing the matriarch is essential if they want to get married. However, Sadhna has always thought that Jenny is stubborn and immature. Jenny showed that she didn’t know how to keep a house clean and also didn’t know how to cook. Sadhna insisted that it was too late for Jenny to learn anything. As the family later discussed Jenny being too old for Sumit and how they would hear taunts in public because of her, Sadhna’s future daughter-in-law blew her nose in a tissue and put it on her food plate.
The Palm Springs resident got offended when Sadhna commented on Jenny looking like Sumit's grandmother. She said, “It’s my house. We’re not going to do this,” and proceeded to blow her nose. “This is so unhygienic. It’s not right,” Sadhna remarked. She then insisted that they would have to throw the plate away. Meanwhile, Sadhna and Sumit asked Jenny to dispose of the tissue in a dustbin, which she did after throwing a fit. A 90 Day Fiancé viewer on Reddit, u/98221-poppin, posted screenshots from the episode and wrote, “I am SO with mama Sumit on this! I'm TRULY grossed out, screaming in disgust, by Jenny's lack of manners.”
The TLC fan believes that Sumit’s mother is right to think that Jenny is too set in her ways to change her habits. Since this side of Jenny was never revealed on TV during 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’s earlier seasons, fans are finding it very surprising. Some admitted to feeling sorry for Jenny initially, but Sadhna has managed to open some of their eyes via her realistic assessment of the situation. Jenny was also asked to blow her nose in a bathroom next time and to wash her hands after flushing the paper away. Viewers wondered if Jenny had forgotten that the cameras were on her because she also wore her long hair down in the kitchen while cooking.
Although Sadhna was expected to be the latest 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 villain, it’s Jenny who’s earning minus points. Over time, a lot of fans have grown tired of Jenny. They think she's unreasonable in her relationship and they've wished she would go back home plenty of times. However, Jenny has always refused to budge, and (as rumor has it) she may already be married to Sumit. Perhaps Sumit’s mom has been able to achieve the impossible by teaching Jenny the right manners and habits, despite her mature age. It seems like Jenny considers Sadhna a potential bestie, while Sumit's mom thinks that she is useless.
