Some 90 Day Fiance viewers think that Jenny Slatten is acting desperate for her Indian boyfriend, Sumit Singh. Their "toxic" relationship isn't making sense to some fans, who believe that Jenny is either quite lonely or simply desperate to find love. Sumit and Jenny were first featured on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way season 1 and season 2. Just like many other TLC stars, they met online and started talking. However, the twist was Sumit lied about his identity. He used someone else's pictures on his Facebook profile and described himself as an Englishman in his mid-20s named Michael Jones.
Still, Jenny fell in love and decided to move to India after Sumit confessed to catfishing. After arriving in India, she was hit with another shock. Sumit's in-laws barged into their house and told Jenny that Sumit was already married to an Indian woman. The 62-year-old Jenny was in shock, as well as scared for her safety. Eventually, Sumit got divorced from his wife, and Jenny thought he would soon tie the knot with her. But, his parents refused to accept their relationship.
They said Jenny might be a good lady, but she is 62, and their son is 33. They couldn't let their young son commit to an older lady, who might not be around to take care of him. Sumit's mother blackmailed him by saying that she would commit suicide if he married Jenny. Even though Sumit's family is completely against their relationship, Jenny wants to live in India. After living a long, comfortable, and happy life in the United States, Jenny wants to be with Sumit, who isn't ready to go against his parents' wishes to marry her. A fan said (via Reddit), "I don't understand why Jenny keeps pushing for this relationship to continue."
Other fans also agreed that Sumit and Jenny's relationship was based on many lies. A fan wrote, "Oh, more you think about this relationship, less sense it makes. Sumit lied about pretty much everything." Another fan called Jenny desperate and commented, "Jenny acting so proud saying 'He chose me,' well Jenny he ain't a prize but good for them. They found 'love.''' Someone else said, "Jenny is getting old, desperate, and lonely. Maybe she was thrilled because a much younger man was attracted to her." A few fans think that Sumit and Jenny make a horrible pair.
While Sumit demonstrates a "weak" personality, Jenny may not be that smart because she failed to catch his lies. Still, some fans truly believe in their love story. They like the fact that Sumit and Jenny are still together and keep on sharing cuddly pictures on social media. The couple has even started following a new healthy regime to stay fit. Sumit is now showing off his newly transformed figure, and Jenny is also flaunting her glowing skin in different Indian attires. Hopefully, the next season of a 90 Day Fiance spin-off will showcase the more likable versions of Sumit and Jenny.
